SALEM’S LAKE DISTRICT, A FEWS DAYS LATER
Philip, Chloe, and Wesley are house hunting. Wesley is in his stroller. They’re standing on the expansive veranda.
Realtor: What are your thoughts about this home? Five bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, all the bedrooms and bathrooms open up to this veranda overlooking the lake, there’s a gourmet kitchen ...
Philip: That’s a waste.
Chloe: You’re not funny.
Realtor: ... A library, a music room, a media room, a children’s playroom, a boat slip. It’s on the water, as you requested...
Philip: My wife insists on living near the water. She thinks that a fire could be extinguished that much sooner.
Chloe: This is absolutely perfect.
Philip: Finally! There’s a house you like.
Chloe: I don’t like it. I love it.
Philip: It took you more than 10 years to tell me you love me, but with this house, it’s love at first sight.
Realtor: Your wife is very particular. But she obviously has good taste.
Philip: How much will it cost to fireproof this house?
Realtor: I’ll get you the name of a contractor.
Chloe: I can picture us having breakfast out here on the veranda every morning. Or sitting out here after dinner and watching the sunset over the lake. The view is breathtaking.
Philip looks at Chloe.
Philip: I have a breathtaking view every day.
Chloe smiles.
Chloe: This is it, Philip. I have a good feeling about this place.
Philip [to the realtor]: We’ll take it.
SALEM INN, FRONT ENTRANCE DRIVEWAY
Philip and Chloe have been staying at the Salem Inn since returning from Belize. After house hunting, they drive back to the hotel. Philip gets out of the car and takes the stroller out of the trunk while Chloe takes Wesley out of his carseat and places him in the stroller. The valet walks up to Philip.
Philip: I’m not staying.
Valet: Very good sir. The valet leaves.
Chloe: You’re not staying? Where are you going?
Philip: I have something I need to take care of.
Chloe: Melanie?
Philip nods.
Philip: I need to do this in person.
Chloe: Are you sure you want to do this?
Philip: No. But I didn’t know that bigamy was an option.
Chloe gives Philip a stern look.
Philip: I was just kidding!
Chloe: Well it’s not funny. Don’t quit your day job.
Philip smiles.
Philip: Sooorry.
Chloe: And don’t flash that smile at me. Your dimples have no affect on me.
Philip: Oh, I think they do.
He leans over and kisses Chloe.
Philip: See? I knew you couldn’t resist.
Chloe: Just make sure you don’t smile at Melanie.
Philip: You’re not seriously jealous, are you?
Chloe: You’re not seriously clueless, are you?
Philip: If I’m not back in an hour, you have my permission to call Bo.
Chloe: Another joke?
Philip: I’ll be back in an hour.

Wow. Wish I could have a house like that. So happy they found a place. Just love that they are going to get it fireproofed. Best line is Philip saying It took you more than 10 years to tell me you love me, but with this house, it’s love at first sight. Can't wait till tomorrow to see Philip and Mel. (I know that it will make me cry.)

Love how Philip made fun of Chloe's non-cooking skills!!! I hope they also hire a cleaning service, that's a large house to clean! But please, do not hire a Nanny.

SALEM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL, THIRD FLOOR NURSE’S STATION
Philip gets off the elevator and sees Melanie writing some information on a patient’s chart. She looks up and sees him. Her lips part and she runs over and hugs him. He puts his arms around her.
Melanie: Philip, I’m so glad you’re home. I missed you.
Philip: Can you take a break? Can we go somewhere and talk?
Melanie: Oh. Um. Sure. Let’s go into the lounge.
They go into the lounge and close the door. Melanie takes a step toward Philip but his body language tells her she should refrain from mauling him.
Melanie: So what happened? Did you find Parker? Is he alright?
Philip: We found him. He’s home and he’s fine.
Melanie: Oh yay, I’m so happy. I’ve been so worried about him. You should bring him in for a checkup. You know ... just to be sure.
Philip: That’s a good idea. We will.
Melanie: When you didn’t reply to my last few emails, I got really worried. I thought maybe you got kidnapped, or killed, or ...
Philip: Yea, it’s that last “or.” Melanie ...
Melanie: No. Don’t say it. Damn! What an idiot I am.
Philip: Mel, no ...
Melanie: You know ... when you cheated on me with Chloe, I swore I’d never let any man hurt me like that ever again. So guess what? I didn’t let just any man hurt me again. I let the same man hurt me again. I hate myself.
Philip: Don’t say that. If you have to hate someone, hate me.
Melanie: I’d really like to hate you, but you were brainwashed. I wasn’t. I knew the score. I had a scorecard.
Philip: Mel, if you ... had a scorecard, then why? Why did you let me think we were married again?
Melanie: I don’t know. Maybe partly to get back at Chloe.
Philip: And the other part?
Melanie: Well, why do you think?
Philip: To get back at me?
Melanie: No. It’s because ... I liked being with you. I liked ... I ... I sort of fell in love with you again.
Philip: Oh. I’m really sorry about all this, Melanie.
Melanie: Stop apologizing! It’s not like I didn’t know this was going to happen. Men always choose Chloe.
Philip: Once upon a time, I chose you.
Melanie absent-mindedly twirls her hair with her fingers and tears fill her eyes.
Melanie: We were really good together, weren’t we?
Philip: We were incredible together. You know I’ll always love you, Mel. But I guess we weren’t meant to be.
Philip glances at his wrist watch.
Melanie: Are you gonna turn into a pumpkin at the stroke of 4:00?
Philip: Um.
Melanie: Go. Be happy with your family.
Philip: You’re the best, Mel. If there’s ever anything I can do ...
Philip puts his arms around Melanie and hugs her goodbye.

I am glad that things are now settled with Melanie. I'd love to see Chloe pay her a visit. Philip was kind to let her down gently.

Well done. This is how two mature adults would handle it and I'm happy to see them both behave that way. I even felt a little sad for Melanie. But I'm glad it's all been settled....or is it???
