So, did anyone else think that their ending up at Jennifer and Daniel's party together might be the start of something between them? Could Maxine help lighten up Abe's personality? I'd be all for the coupling if it would give Maxine a real storyline and more screen time.
Thoughts?

I would welcome this pairing. Maxine has a very nurturing way about her which would be great for Theo. From what I recall, Maxine also has older children(a son?). Theo really enjoyed spending time with both Cameron & Chad, and now that they have left Salem, perhaps this would be a great opportunity to introduce some of Maxine's family and have Theo spend time with them.
Would be nice to see an older couple in Salem get some screen time.

I'll have to see more of them together before I decide. But I am all for mature romance.

Maxine and Abe as a couple, at least it gives Abe something to do and not to mention Maxine she would be a really good influence on Theo hell she could even be a future step-mother for Theo should her and Abe end up together which I hope they do

Sadly, as the only two African-Americans in Salem, it would seem that they are fated to be together. That being said, I do think Maxine could help bring Abe out of his crazy boring self, so I'm all for that. At least they are of a similar age. And, let's be real. I'd believe Abe and Maxine WAY faster than I ever believed Abe and Lexie.

I was against this for a long time for two reasons. First, I felt like so many people just assumed they should be together because they're both older black adults, which I think is ridiculous. The other reason is that she seems so different from Lexi, his first wife. After seeing them together at the party though, I've kind of changed my mind. They seemed to have an easy, natural chemistry. They looked so comfortable sitting there talking at Daniel's kitchen table. I will have to see more of them too but I'm more open to it now.

I am thinking they dropped the idea of Abe and Kayla together (good); they pretty much dropped Kayla period (bad).

I feel the need to clarify my earlier post. I said that because they were the only African-Americans in Salem they were fated to be together. What I meant was I don't care if they're black, white, purple, green, or whatever, but (with the exception of Will/Sonny) Days isn't known for it's non-traditional coupling, so it's fair to assume Abe and Maxine would be paired up.
As for their age, I think it's WAY more reasonable for two people in their (late?) 50's/(early?) 60's to have more in common than a 60 yr old man and a 30 something woman.
