A continuation of Thursday’s scene ... Eric wants to know if Marlena is trying to get Chyka or Nicole. She avoids the question.
Marlena questions why Nicole would have let Chyka go. And thankfully, Eric says what we all have been thinking. “Chyka was an armed terrorist, what did you expect Nicole to do?” He asks his mother why she’s not concerned about Kristen, the person who ruined his profession. Marlena says she made a deal with Stefano not to ask about Kristen. Sheesh.
So Eric point blank asks what Marlena found out. If she answered the question, I missed it.
Later, Marlena and John argue and Marlena lays the blame for everything except global warming on John. Roman appears and wonders what’s wrong. Marlena laments what she’s done to their son. Roman asks John to leave them alone.
Marlena reluctantly tells. Roman supports.

Eric made excellent points, and oh how I would have enjoyed her being ripped to shreds if only Nicole had never found & destroyed the exonerating evidence just as Marlena suspects. ![:-/](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/undecided.png)

I think Marlena's guilt about exposing Eric's rape in such a public way is driving this obsession right now. However, I thoroughly enjoyed watching her squirm under Eric's questioning.
I do wonder if Marlena actually thought that she could convince Dr. Chyka to reveal anything about Nicole, or whether it was just an excuse to try to track his whereabouts(with Nicole's demise being an added bonus).

I think that the information Chyka revealed was completely calculated by Stefano. Chyka would not reveal any more than Stefano wanted him to.
I agree @dukeblue that Marlena still has guilt over the part she played in the revelation, however I don't see how fingering Nicole is more effective than getting evidence about Kristen drugging Eric. That makes no sense to me at all.

I totally agree Kpatch. Marlena's detective work seems pointless and misguided. By Dr. Chyka admitting that he divulged information to Nicole, he would be incriminating himself. Why would he do that? I was just wondering if destroying Nicole was her only objective. If so, why would she speak to Hope and bring the tracking device with her? She couldn't answer Eric's questions, so maybe she doesn't even know what she was trying to accomplish.
