Agree, Nicole is coming across as desperate. As if, the only way a man can prove he loves her is by having sex with her. Plus, it feels like she thinks that if she can get him into the sack he won't leave her when the truth inevitably comes out.
As for Eric, the writers really impressed me. Too often Hollywood portrays Christians as either unreasonable zealots or hypocrites. For Eric to jump into bed with Nicole right after leaving the priesthood would be beyond hypocritical. It's not like only priests are supposed to obey God's law (premarital sex IS still against the rules, regardless of how few people obey it).
