Chapter 50
Two days later at Titan, Craig watched Philip rub the back of his neck and pace back and forth in his office. “Philip, you need to calm down.”
“I can’t,” Philip said, running his fingers through his hair. “Justin said he has some mind-blowing information for us. That can’t be good.”
“Probably not, but let’s wait and see.” Craig looked at his wrist watch. “He’ll be here soon.”
“I just have a bad feeling that all my fears about The Oaks have been founded,” Philip said. “And if I’m right, we have to get Chloe out of there like yesterday.”
“I sure wish Newman would have returned my calls. I’d still feel better talking to him first.”
“I’d bet money he’s part of the problem, Craig. Maybe the whole problem.”
“I hope you’re wrong, Philip. ... On a happier note, I saw Parker this morning.”
Philip stopped pacing and his face brightened. “I saw him too. Stopped at the hospital on my way to work. How do you think he’s doing?”
“I think he’s doing better than anyone could have expected this soon. His vitals are good,” Craig explained. “He still has a long way to go, but he’s making excellent progress toward a full recovery. It never ceases to amaze me how resilient kids are.”
“Thank God for that,” Philip said.
Two knocks at the door and Justin walked into Philip’s office. “Ready for this,” Justin asked. He set his briefcase on Philip’s desk, opened it, and pulled out a set of papers. “Says here The Oaks is funded by KKR, an independent ....”
“I know who they are,” Philip interrupted. “Kohlberg Kravitz and Roberts. They’re an investment group famous for buying up struggling companies, building them back up, then selling them for a profit. But what would they want with a rehab facility?”
“Let me finish,” Justin said. “It’s not that KKR. I thought it was, too, at first, but then I did some digging. KKR Foundation is the chief source of income for The Oaks. The CEO of KKR is in bed with Newman, literally. He’s essentially her puppet, does whatever she wants, including calling the shots on patient treatments.”
“She??” Craig asked.
Justin smiled. “Ah, you caught that. Yup, KKR is a woman. And guess what? The middle ‘K’ stands for Kiriakis.”
“What the hell?” Philip was stunned. “So it’s someone I know? A relative?”
“Oh yes indeed. A female relative with an unnatural hatred of one Chloe Lane.”
Philip’s brow knit. “A woman with ....” His eyes grew wide. “Good lord. K as in ....”
“First K stands for Kate,” Justin replied. “Second K as in Kiriakis. And the R is ....”
“Roberts,” Craig said, rising from his chair. “That bitch! I’m going to kill her.”
“Not if I get my hands on her first,” Philip said. “No wonder Chloe hasn’t been getting better. With my mother calling the shots, Chloe is in serious danger.” He looked at Craig. “Now do you believe me? We’ve gotta get her out of there. Today.”
“I know it,” Craig answered. “Let’s go!”
“Not so fast,” Justin said blocking their way to the door. “You go charging in there and you’re gonna create a whole lot of problems for yourselves and for Chloe. Don’t forget, all those people work for Newman. What he says goes. There are security guards and ... I hate to say this, but they’re armed and ....”
“And what?” Craig was trying to follow Justin’s logic. “You think they’re going to shoot us?”
“They aren’t going to let you take a patient out of there without Newman’s okay. No one there makes a move without him. That means we need to be smart about this. We need to be strategic. We need to be cunning,” Justin said looking at Philip. “Check your emotions at the door, cousin. We need to think like Kiriakis men.”

Thank goodness Phillip and Craig now know who is behind Chloe's not getting any better. And boy am I sure that Justin is there to keep things under control. Love how he said "We need to think like Kiriakis men"!! This is gonna be good!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad Philip and Craig found out that Kate is calling the shots at The Oaks. I hope they can rescue Chloe quickly.

Since Kate is the one who is bankrolling The Oaks since she is the one who is funding this facility I wonder what kind of other things they do at this facility or if they do any kind of other research they do by which I mean illegal research by which I mean experiments at this facility? It begs the question now doesn't it? It makes me wonder just who else other than Chloe from Salem could be at this facility? It makes me wonder if there are others from Salem in The Oaks as well maybe people from Salem who are supposed to be dead are actually alive could be even staying there as patients
But either way Chloe she is not safe in there and I swear if Philip and Craig try to take her out of there, wouldn't it make Kate the least bit suspicious? And not to mention Chloe she doesn't even remember Philip at all she doesn't even remember her own son Parker and Parker has just been through hell but at least the truth is out about him and Philip really being father and son but you know as well as I do that Philip will cut Kate completely out of his and Parker's lives
But either way I am glad that Philip's cousin Justin he was able to tell Philip that they need to play this smart that they need to be Kiriakis men and think like Philip's father Victor, so it makes me wonder just what Philip has up his sleeve

I wonder if once Parker is out of the hospital if Philip will end up changing Parker's last name back from Jonas to Kiriakis?

The idea that other Salemites who have, over time, vanished up the stairs, never to be seen again....absolutely cracks me up--in a good way. I would never have thought of that, but I suppose it's possible! Maybe Jan Spears? I totally wouldn't put it past Kate to try it!

Chapter 51
On Saturday morning, Craig, Justin, Brady and Philip met up in Philip’s office at Titan headquarters. The building was mostly empty, so there was little risk of anyone wondering what they were up to.
“Check it out,” Brady said, holding up a black t-shirt.
Justin took the shirt from Brady. “KKR Cleaning Service. Nice job!”
Philip unbuttoned the shirt he was wearing and changed into one of the black t-shirts and the three other men followed suit. “So do we all know the plan?”
“Yes.” Justin recapped the plan. “We go into The Oaks pretending we’re from one of KKR’s subcontractors. If Chloe’s in her room, we hide her in the cleaning cart and get her out of there.”
“And if she’s not?” Brady asked.
“We find her,” Craig said.
“Who’s driving the getaway truck,” Brady asked. When he got blank stares, he added, “well, we need to be coordinated.”
“Good idea,” Justin said. “You drive. Everyone have their bluetooths? We’re going to have to spread out in different directions and be able to communicate with each other.”
“Check,” Philip replied. “We ready? Come on, let’s go,” he said impatiently.
“Not yet,” Justin insisted. “We need to finish going over the checklist.”
Philip rolled his eyes. “We don’t have time, Justin. Chloe’s life could hang in the balance.”
“Philip is right,” Craig agreed. “We’re wasting precious time here. Let’s go over the rest of the plan on the way.”
“Okay,” Brady said, “let’s roll.”
Within an hour, the men in black entered the Oaks, showed the receptionist their fake IDs and went back toward the patients’ rooms.
Since Craig knew the way to Chloe’s room, he went there first. He reported via the bluetooth headset that she wasn’t in there. Philip reported that she wasn’t in the solarium either. Brady cruised the corridors pushing a cleaning cart but said he didn’t see Chloe. In fact, he hardly saw anyone around the facility. Shouldn’t there be more visitors on a weekend? More patients in the common areas? Something seemed very odd.
In Dr. Newman’s empty office, Justin checked the doctor’s schedule. “He’s in surgery right now,” Justin reported. “Thought he was out of the country.” Justin rummaged through the file drawers. “Found it! Geez. This is insane.”
“Found what? What’s insane?” Craig asked via bluetooth. “Justin, where are you?”
“Newman’s office,” Justin said communicating with all three men at once. “Quick men, get in here.”
“Where’s here,” Philip asked from the visitors area. “Where’s Newman’s office?”
“It’s room 160-A,” Justin said. “Hurry up!”
Within five minutes, the four men converged in Dr. Newman’s office. “You’re not gonna like this,” Justin told them. He handed a file folder to Craig.
Craig looked at it. “It’s Chloe’s patient file.” He set the file on the desk and opened the folder. There were stacks of hand-written notes, nothing typed or printed out. “Oh dear god.”
“What!” Philip’s anxiety was through the roof. He looked over Craig’s shoulder. “What did you find?”
Craig turned to looked at Philip. He swallowed hard and his voice cracked as he spoke. “My baby’s being given electroshock therapy.”
Philip groaned. “Oh god. Oh god no.”
“Every day, with increasing voltage.” Craig walked away from the file as if he couldn’t look at it anymore. Philip picked up Chloe’s chart. “I don’t know what this means. Craig, come here, quick, look at this. It says that she’s scheduled for something ... today.”
Craig came back over and looked in the file. “Oh no.” Craig looked up at the clock on the wall. “They’ve got her in surgery. Jesus! She’s having psychosurgery.”
“What’s that,” Brady asked.
Craig’s eyes were wide with fright. “It’s a modern-day lobotomy. They drill holes and remove a portion of the patient’s brain!”
“We have to find her!” Brady said.
Justin added, “I hope it’s not too late.”
The men rushed for the door and piled into the corridor looking left and right. Philip ran his hand through his hair. “Where’s the freaking operating room,” he yelled.
A male nurse came out of a patient’s room. “Will you all be quiet! This is a medical facility and patients are trying to rest.”
Philip grabbed the front of the man’s shirt. “Where’s the operating room?”
“Let me go. Who the hell are you?”
“I’m the man who’s gonna kill you if you don’t tell me where Dr. Newman is operating right now.”
Frightened, the nurse pointed down the hallway. Philip released him and the four men went running like mad in the direction the nurse pointed. Two armed security guards stepped in their path. “Where do you think you’re going?”
Philip pushed past them and ran like the wind, with Craig hot on his heels. They heard the guards yelling stop, their loud footsteps gaining on Craig and Philip. Even with only one good leg, Philip was flying on adrenaline, running as fast as he did when he was on the high school track team.
When he reached the sign that said O.R. 1, he pushed through the double doors.
The surgical team wearing scrubs and masks was standing over a patient, instruments in hand. They looked up with surprise when Philip and Craig entered. “Get out!” One of them yelled through their surgical mask. “A procedure is under way.”
“Not anymore,” Philip shouted. “Get away from her!”
As Craig approached the operating table, another doctor was about to grab him. Craig put his hands up. “Don’t touch me. I’m her father and if you so much as touched a hair on her head....”
“Dr. Wesley,” Newman said as he lowered his surgical mask. “I’m Paul Newman. And I’m really relieved you’re here.”
Craig glared at Newman for a few seconds before looking at Chloe again. “What did you do to her?”
Newman shook his head. “Nothing yet. You got here in the nick of time.” He looked at the surgical team. “You all can go. We’re finished here.”
Craig stroked Chloe’s head. “Newman wait.” Craig looked up at him. “What’s she on?”
“Just a 2.5 miligram ratio of Diprivan. She should wake up in two hours or so.”
Philip grabbed Newman in a choke-hold from behind before he could leave the O.R. “Why? Damn it! Why did you do it?”
“Since you’re here, I assume you know why, Philip,” Newman’s voice creaked, as he struggled to loosen Philip’s hold on his neck. “Your mother has the power to ruin me.”
Philip squinted at the doctor, tightening his grip. “So you’d sacrifice an innocent woman just because you were afraid my mother would pull her funding??? What kind of man are you?”
“She had a lot more than that on me. But if it’s any consolation, I’m not proud of myself. Frankly, I’m glad it’s over.”
“It’s okay baby,” Craig said, diverting Philip’s attention away from Newman. He let the doctor go and walked toward the operating table, afraid of what he’d see.
Chloe looked like sleeping beauty, dark hair, pallid complexion, lying still beneath the harsh lights of the operating theater. There were dots on her head to mark the spots where incisions were going to be made. Philip gently picked up her hand as Craig continued to stroke her head. Philip brought her fingers to his lips and kissed them, his tears falling onto her pale skin. “I’m sorry, Chloe,” he whispered.

I just hope they got to Chloe in time and that she is okay but it could have been a whole hell of a lot worse had they gone through with the psychosurgery but since Philip, Craig, Justin and Brady all 4 of them got there in time stopping this madness from happening it begs the question of just how affected Chloe will be or if there will be any side effects as a result?
Either way now Philip is most likely going to confront his mother Kate about her role in all of this, that much is for certain
Kate is going to get everything she deserves but Newman he had no choice but to follow Kate's orders I mean she was blackmailing him but that doesn't excuse what he did, and because of that Newman could be going away to prison but not unless he makes a deal with the Salem PD giving up Kate but can Kate face any type of charges though in her role in all of this?

Chapter 52
Brady was driving the getaway truck and Justin was in the passenger seat. Behind the driver’s compartment, Chloe was still out cold, lying on the floor of the truck’s cab with Craig on one side and Philip on the other.
“Good job men!” Justin called from the passenger seat. “We did it. Mission accomplished!”
Brady glanced at Justin. “Thank God we got her out in time.”
Philip stared at Chloe intently, stroking her hair, holding her hand. He spoke quietly so that only Craig could hear, “Did we, Craig? Did we get her out in time?”
Craig shook his head from side to side. “We won’t know for sure until she wakes up.” Craig swallowed hard. “I can’t believe what they tried to do to my beautiful girl.”
“What about what they did do, Craig? What kind of effects will the shock treatments have?”
Craig looked at Philip. “I’m not sure. I don’t have a lot of experience in that field of treatment. A lot of it depends on how the electroshock therapy was administered, the frequency, the voltage....”
Philip’s stomach turned at the thought of anyone putting current through Chloe’s body, through her mind. He realized something was wrong from the start, but no one would believe him. Why didn’t he try harder to get them to listen? “Do you think she’ll be alright? She seemed to have memory loss whenever I saw her. Do you think it’s permanent?”
“Philip, I hear your anxiety and I know how you feel. I’m worried too. I know you want an answer, but I ... I just don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see.”
“Hey Philip, Craig,” Brady called from up-front, “are we taking Chloe to the mansion?”
Craig and Philip looked at each other. “Yeah, we’re going back to the mansion,” Philip said.
When they were about a block away from the Kiriakis mansion, Philip told Brady to stop the truck outside the gate. Brady drove up the hill and stopped the truck. He turned around in his seat. “What’s the deal? Why are we stopping here?”
Philip held his hand out to Brady. “Give me the car key.”
Brady knit his brow as he took the key out of the ignition and handed it to Philip. “Okay, what’s up?”
“Brady,” Justin started, “you and I are getting out here. This is the part of the plan that you and I aren’t privvy to, and that’s by design. Craig and Philip are taking Chloe to a safe house.”
“A safe house?” Brady was surprised. “Seriously?”
“What do you mean ‘seriously’?” Craig asked. “Someone wanted to do serious damage to my daughter, Brady. We need to keep her out of harm’s way while she recuperates.”
“Of course,” Brady conceded. “Whatever you need.”
“We need you and Justin to get out of the car,” Philip said. “No one can know where we’re taking her.”
“Me? Why me?” Brady was indignant. “I care as much about Chloe as you do.” Philip looked at Brady and cocked his head. “Well okay,” Brady responded, “almost as much. I’d do anything for her, you know that.”
Philip nodded. “The fewer people who know where we're taking her, the better. Once we have her settled, I’ll give you a call and you can come see her. I’m sure she’d welcome a friendly face ... even yours,” Philip said, attempting a little humor to break the tension. “I’m grateful for everything you’ve done, both of you.”
Brady looked at Justin and shrugged. “Okay, whatever. Just take good care of her, will you?”
“Justin,” Craig stopped him before he left the car. “You’re going to start proceedings against The Oaks and KKR, right?”
“You’d better believe it,” Justin said. “And don’t worry, I’m not going to breathe a word of this, not to Adrienne, not to Uncle Vic or to Maggie....”
“And not to Daniel,” Philip added quickly.
“And not to Daniel,” Justin agreed. “Good luck guys.”
After Justin and Brady got out of the truck, Philip climbed into the truck’s cab and put the vehicle in gear. Craig stayed in the back with Chloe. He tapped Philip’s shoulder from behind. “Home James,” he said, “and watch out for those potholes.”

Glad they got Chloe out of there but yes they won't know the side effects until Chloe wakes up because she endured a whole hell of a lot of ECT while she was in The Oaks while she was in their care being a patient there and they are right because Chloe isn't safe because if they find out that Chloe was taken out of there then she would probably be in even more danger
So Philip, Craig, Justin and Brady did do the right thing in getting her out of there but Kate she will get suspicious if she hasn't already but the key thing here is is that Parker at least has his mother back but we won't know for sure especially when she wakes up but Parker has his rightful father that being Philip so
But I wonder which safe house Philip is taking her to? I know it can't be any one of the Kiriakis safe houses because if it is then wouldn't Victor get suspicious? Just saying
Who knows maybe once Chloe is at the safe house and her and Philip start spending time together there she will probably end up getting her memory back piece by piece
