Nicole tells Marlena and Roman that she already gave a statement to Hope and she’s not doing it again. She gets a staredown from Cruella Docville. Nicole fills Marlena in after Roman leaves. Nicole tells Marlena an abridged version. Marlena keeps up her accusatory tone.
Finally Nicole asks Marlena what her problem is. Marlena can’t believe she let Chyka slip through her fingers. Daniel enters the pub and tells Marlena she shouldn’t be attacking Nicole, she should be thanking her. My thoughts exactly!
Marlena is still suspicious, but Daniel convinces her to apologize, although it’s an insincere apology.
Later, Nicole runs into Cruella outside the pub.

After the document shredding I don't mind Marlena giving Nicole a hard time.
I did think it was cool of Daniel to defend Nicole to Marlena.

I hate that Nicole shredded the documents because it justifies Marlena's behavior. But Marlena's been self righteous, judgmental and downright rude towards Nicole even when she was doing everything possible to help Eric.
When did Marlena become this horribly unlikeable person? Are she and Jennifer in some sort of competition and I just don't know it?

Are she and Jennifer in some sort of competition and I just don't know it? Marlena doesn't know what Nicole did so she has no reason to treat her this way. Sadly though, Nicole has now behaved in a way that will make Marlena's behavior seem completely justified. That's one of the things I hate about what she did. Not only is she destroying her chance for happiness but she is lowering herself to everyone's expectations. She is her own worst enemy.

I can't be objective about Marlena. I used to like her when she first appeared on Days but I think I overdosed on the character during the 80s & 90s. Kind of like "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia".

LOL kathyj. I know what you are saying! Love the Brady Bunch reference. And wendylou, it is aggravating that Marlena is being so sanctimonious and she's going to end up being vindicated.

This storyline is so very frustrating. The disappointment in Nicole's decision to withhold the evidence and the potential that has to sabotage her relationship with Eric(seems like I've spent an eternity waiting for those two to reach this point) is a huge let down. There is sadness for Nicole individually as well. She has worked so hard to restore her image amongst the people that really matter to her, but unfortunately this will just give her doubters more ammunition.

Marlena has always hated Nicole like let's be honest and she probably doesn't want her with her son Eric

His family is upset that Eric is being forced out of the priesthood because of Kristen's heinous actions. Nicole being there ready to jump into a relationship with Eric isn't going to sit well with them.

Because Marlena let's face it has never trusted Nicole and she never will she is acting like an overbearing, protective mother
