I like Crystal and Carly's character has been much more interesting. I may be a minority here, but I feel bad about this. She is a great actress & I will miss her.
Thanks for posting this!

I love the actress. I think she is phenomenal. I haven't ever really liked or not liked Carly. She bores me most of the time, but her drug addiction storyline has been wonderfully acted. I wonder how she is going to be written out this time?!?

I'm not a huge fan of this decision, but I can also get why they'd do it. If the new writers have a solid vision for the show and need to shake things up, Carly is sort of expendable -- though I can think of plenty of interesting things they could do with her.

Maybe I'm just being grouchy this morning, but what the heck was the point to making her a major character like Melanie's mother only to sack her just over a year after it was done?Wonder if that means Molly and Christian won't be far behind.I can't see them breaking up the family.

I know what you mean GG and Kazz. I never loved Carly nor hated her but I always liked Crystal. It's just too bad they never really gave her a good story. They should have brought Nicholas back or resurrect Lawrence from the dead. There's a lot they could have done with either or both of those scenarios. But this drug addiction SL just seems to be driving her character into a corner. Does anyone know when her contract is up? Where's Jason47 when you need him?

Way back in the 90s, when Hope was "dead," I liked the Bo/Carly pairing. She wasn't a replacement for Hope, but at that time, she was a good match for Bo. Once Hope returned, it was just sad to see Carly get shoved to the side. All she ever did was fall in love with a man that truly loved another woman. How heartbreaking! I'm actually kind of surprised she didn't turn into a drug addict before this. Even though she is Melanie's mother, there really isn't much of a place for her in Salem. She doesn't have a special someone (not that she NEEDS one, but it would be nice to curl up with a warm body), and in fact, she's constantly reminded of the love she lost. I can't blame her for leaving. Maybe they'll ship her off to Betty Ford. I just hope they don't kill her with an overdose.

I am curious to see how this will go. I am kinda of sad to see her go now that she actually has a good storyline.

I get what you're saying, except about the love she lost....was Bo really in love with her this time,or just biding his time until his wife came back to him?Carly should have known the writing was on the wall with that one as I don't think he ever signed divorce papers. If he did,I don't think they mentioned it.Jenn was seen finding them way back, but were they ever mentioned again?I am sorry to see Crystal go though. While I'm not a huge fan of Carly,I love Crystal.

I was hoping Nicholas would return and they could have had a great story dealing with all of their conflicts. I liked Bo and Carly when Hope was gone in the 90's but didn't want them together this time. Crystal seems like a really great gal and I hope she succeeds with her new endeavors.

With things the way they are right now in daytime and in the economy, I hate to see anyone lose thier job. However, I can honestly say that I'm not going to miss Carly being on the screen. I will say that the writers gave Crystal **** to work with and I'm sure she did the best that she could, but being that this is the 1st time I've ever seen her, I just didn't see what all the hype was about.
Good luck to Crystal in her future adventures!!

I'd say she lost Bo when Hope came back long ago. When Hope went crazy, I think Carly was just a distraction. She saw it as a rekindling of the love from a decade ago, and then it was yanked out from under her. Yes, Bo was kind of a pig, but if you put his love for Hope at a 10, I'd say Carly was probably a good 6 or so, and it makes sense that he would turn to her for some lovin'. There's a song that seems to fit. Read these lyrics: "Soft Place to Fall" by Allison Moorer Daylight has found me here again You can ask me anything, but where I've been Things that used to matter seem so small When you're looking for a soft place to fall Don't misunderstand me, baby, please I didn't mean to bring back memories You should know the reason why I called I was looking for a soft place to fall Looking for a soft place Nothing more than a small taste Of a love that ended long ago Looking for a place to hide A warm bed on a cold night I didn't mean to hurt you No, no, no Looking out your window at the dawn Baby, when you wake up, I'll be gone You're the one who taught me after all How to find a soft place to fall

While I love Crystal Chappell, I don't like this incarnation of Carly.
I did like her with the Robert Kelker Kelley version of Bo. I don't like her with Peter Reckell. He belongs to Hope.
Still sad to see her go, she's a fantastic actress.
