The baptism was very nice. Father Matt officiates -- Abigail and Sonny take their places as godparents. They each make a little speech. Abby says she wants to be a role model for Ari. They are family and although families may not always get along they always have each others back. Sonny says he will always have a special bond with Arianna. He was there at the first moment of her life and he will be there until the end of his life. He will love and care for her as if she was his own -- and she already is.
Gabi nearly passes out when she sees the baptismal water splashing. She and Will hold hands.

I've never seen godparents make a speech at a baptism. Maybe it depends on your religion. I did like Sonny's speech though adn Ari was so cute with her coo-ing.

I've never seen that either and I've been to a lot of Catholic christenings...but I thought it was a very nice touch. Days always does religious ceremonies well...even when they throw in flashbacks of attempted murder and sex romps. At least there was no video this time.

Abby wants to be a role model, huh? I'm holding my tongue... That was what I was thinking to melly. In addition to that, I didn't like how she made the speech about her, at least that was my perception. I wanted the camera to cut to EJ so I could see his face while she was talking about family and such. But it was a nice ceremony, I agree.

But did you guys notice she said
"I want to be a role model for Ari and I hope some day I can become someone she'll look up to"
She didn't say she was someone who could be looked up to now...she will be some day....like when she's through banging older married/engaged/otherwise-claimed men....then she'll be a role model...!!

Compared to most of Ari's relatives Abby is a much better role model.
It was a nice ceremony. People always seem to make speeches during religious events on TV. In real life people don't make speeches during Catholic baptisms.

I remember when Simon was Christened it was a closed ceremony with just the family present not part of the church mass like my other nieces and the godparents made a speech just before the ceremony was done. Maybe it depends of what the parents want if it is done outside of mass.
