So this past Friday this stray dog started hanging around my house. She was so sweet that Saturday We finally gave her some food. The one problem is she manages to squish down so low she escapes under our fence. We are trying to hold on to her so we can find her owners and we don't want her to get hit by a car. She is in great shape and very sweet. We might have to keep her but if we do she needs to be neutered as our neutered male has already, well you know. My husband would also have to put some fencing down below to stop her from escaping. I am exhausted also as it so warm today. I really didn't want another dog but thanks for listening to my small rant!

Aw, you are so sweet to take in a stray, if only temporarily. Did you give her a name?

It may not be only temporary. We are ready to keep her if we have to. Actually you will laugh when I tell you the name I am thinking of... The guy at the local animal shelter said she was an Australian cattle dog... so Thinking in DOOL mode I came up with Sydney.
Whatcha think??

Makes sense to me.....I had 2 Lhasa Apsos and they originated in Tibet under the Fu Manchu Dynasty so I named one Fu Manchu.....we called him Fu.....at the time Tibet was under Russian rule so we named the other one Rooskie..... Then I had a Pekingese that we named Wiggles cause she wiggled alot....that was a tough one.... ;D

I have a thing for strays too sportsgirl. I hvae 4 cats for that reason. We've always had pets, and I we've had 5 cats at one time. My vet bills are the reason I learned to cut my own hair...lol! I certainly understand your reluctance in both keeping and not keeping the little guy. Good lcuk!

OK, Pallison, you've won my heart. I have two pekes (currently) I rescued when I used to work at an animal shelter. Both have one eye. One is Sammy (after Sammy Davis Jr, get it) and the other is Buffy (from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. She wasn't supposed to be mine but she adopted me). I am a hard core peke lover and have had many in my life that are just awesome. Love the name Sydney for a dog.

I had to bring Sydney to the shelter.. It wasn't working out. My dog Rambo was miserable and all she would do is bite him, nip him, attack him and to top it all off, she dug herself out of the yard & took off... Sydney needed to be a 1 dog family. It broke my heart!

Yay for animal lovers!! And creative ones at that!!! We have two cats (both boys) that we named Ace and Gary after the Ambiguously Gay Duo from SNL. It was just a joke when we got them as kittens but then they actually started humping each other, so we had to get them fixed. We love our gay cats! :-)

Awww. I feel awful you had to bring Sydney to the shelter (Love the name by the way.)
A few years ago we had a 2 year old Golden Retriever named Harley and we went to Newfoundland on vacation for 3 weeks with the baby and our neighbour was watching the dog, feeding him, etc. He got out of our backyard somehow and ran away THe pound caught him, and were trying to contact us and inform us that they had him, but out cell phone carriers didn't work in Newfoundland and we were checking our home messages. We were crushed when we got back and found out that they adopted him out to another family. He was such a great dog. They wouldn't tell us where he was or phone them so we could try to get him back no matter how hard we tried. It was a really sad time. Now we just have a cat, Ally, we call her alleycat. LOL

LOL OMG, what a sad story... You must have been heartbroken for quite some time. Thank goodness Syd was only with us for a few days and I still have Rambo. I love kitties too... I have been feeding this outdoor cat I named kitty for years now... He is just a sweetie.
