Just finished making peppermint bark for the first time! Super easy! I melted in the microwave a bag of dark chocolate wafers and a bag of vanilla wafers put the dark chocolate down first on parchment paper, then the vanilla chocolate wafers, sprinkled with candy cane pieces and refrigerated for about 2 hours then broke apart!

I've never tried the Watergate recipes but I do love pistachios. wendylou, I think the difference with the Saltines is you get that sweet and salty flavor that you probably don't get with the graham crackers. I'm going to make the Christmas Crack to take to our neighbors for their Christmas Eve party. Speaking of pistachios, last year, I sprinkled on pistachios. This year, I don't have any so we will do without. I had forgotten that I posted the Crack recipe in the very first post in this thread. Haha! The recipe I used said to use salted butter, which I did, so I still got that salty sweet thing. It took me a while to figure out where the salty taste was coming from . There is a difference in the texture of the crackers so I'm wondering if the toffee kind of melts into the saltines more. Oh, so many yummy treats to eat. New Years needs to get here before I gain 10 pounds.

Christmas Crack Bark. Done. I varied the recipe by adding flaked coconut and brickle bits. Recipe
