Maybe it all depends on what kind of expectations you had going into it. When I first heard they were doing this and who they had cast I thought it was an awful idea and I expected it to be a train wreck. It may have been because I only saw a VERY small bit of it but what I did see wasn't that bad to me. Most of it was singing and everyone I heard sounded great.
I didn't think Carrie Underwood sounded like a redneck, just not European. Of course, I live on the Redneck Riviera so maybe I'm immune to that by now.

I still have to watch it.. probably sometime tomorrow. I will be interested to see what you think, since you like the actor. I have no doubt that he's a good actor, but I think this role was probably not right for him and vice versa. |

Talk about replying late... I even had to split up watching it to finally see this.
I actually enjoyed it. Yes, Carrie & Steven weren't the best at their roles, but live performances can't be easy and I give them cred for it, but the supporting cast was great!! It was a nice change of pace and I have always loved the story. I also realize it won't win an Emmy but either will any of the Christmas movies I watched on the Hallmark Channel. They were just fun!
