Do you go get a professional manicure?
What do you typically pay?
How often do you go?
Your own nails or acrylics?
Fingers and toes?
Do you have a favorite brand? Color? Nail art?
I do my own nails. I tried to do a French manicure this week and I find it really hard to do the fingers on my right hand using my left hand. It comes out all shmooshy.

If I do anything with my nails, I do the nail shields (Jamberry is the brand I use). I have a terrible time with nail polish on my nails. I can never get it to set and it is so frustrating. I have only had acrylics twice and don't think I will ever do them again.

I've never had a professional manicure or pedicure. I've painted my nails or Monica will paint them for me. I like my toes painted. My fingernails seem to chip quickly so I don't paint them very often.

There was a wonderful girl at a shop near my house. She always did them REALLY well and was lovely to chat with while she was doing them. Last spring she told me she was going to start her own shop in the summer, and gave me a general idea of where it would be, but then left before I pinned down the address. Now I can't find her!! I'm heartbroken. I went to her for almost 2 years - not every week, mind you, but every other month or so. She was fantastic and now I'm so sad.  Oh, and my nails look terrible. |

I've had maybe 1 or 2 mani/pedi's in my life. It always looked so nice, but I just don't usually have the time or money to keep at it. I had heard the acrylics can ruin your nails if you keep them on, so you have to go without them for 1 week a month.
Basically, my nails usually are never all long at the same time. They always chip & break with all the housework & stuff I do. I even bought "miracle nails" and that doesn't help.

I get a pedicure about every 6 weeks. I have tried doing my own toes and it NEVER looks right. I pay $38 and give a $7 tip. It is my only indulgence.

**UPDATE** I found my nail girl today!!! I walked into a new shop and there she was! She jumped up and we hugged. It was beautiful. I'm so happy now!!!

I've had a few manicures. I got acrylics put on once and got my own nails done in a french manicure once before a wedding. I have pretty strong nails and I don't like them too long anyway so I will probably never get fake nails again. I also hated taking them off, despite what everyone said it was painful and then my real nails were thin and delicate until they grew out.
I've never gotten a pedicure. I'd like to but I feel embarassed of my feet and I also don't have the money to spend on it regulary. I paint my own toenails all the time in the summer and occasionally I paint my fingernails.

I got acrylics once too wendylou. I couldn't stand them. I couldn't do anything, even put on a necklace. I ripped them off within a week. |
