Started a new story this story has been stuck in my head for a while. It's an alternate universe story. Story reflects how lives can change after one wild night in Vegas.
Stephanie Johnson opens her eyes, and then immediately shuts them again. She lets out a soft groan. The sunlight seemed to be beaming right into her hotel room windows, through the silky white drapes, and directly on her face. Being a glutton for punishment she opens her eyes again. She tries to fight the urge to close them and succeeds for the moment. She shifts to her side, and stops immediately when she felt as though the room was literally spinning. She lies back down in defeat and closes her eyes again.
She holds her head to try to soothe the headache she had and starts to think about what happened last night. As much as she tried she couldn’t remember a thing. Everything felt like a blur, the last thing she remembered was having a few drinks at the bar with the girls. She wonders how many drinks she even had last night? Was it really that many? Was it enough to make her feel this way? It was over her usual two drink rule when she was out during a big event, but still she felt it definitely wasn’t enough to make her feel this.
The fact she couldn’t remember a thing that happened last night after those drinks, was starting to worry her. She has never lost time from drinking, and this was a huge period of time. She tries to sit up in her bed, but she just helplessly falls back on to her pillow. Some maid of honor was she turning into, she thought to herself. She had to get herself together and fast.
She had agreed to be the maid of honor, in her best friend Chloe Lane’s wedding to Philip Kiriakis next month, even though she still had her reservations on the groom. He was a well-known playboy in college. All the girls were crazy over him. Stephanie believes his playboy ways haven’t changed one bit since high school. He was always in the mix at some party and had a legion of girls not too far behind him.
In college, he was the star wide receiver for the USC Trojans. He was dubbed ‘magic hands’ for his skills on the field. He always caught the ball, no matter how bad it was thrown to him. She can still remember the first day she met him.
He was walking across the grass of the student union. Stephanie and Chloe sat on one of the benches studying between classes. Stephanie did more studying, while Chloe gave her the play by play of her first day. The conversation stayed on the cute guys she encountered mainly. Philip walked right up to them so smooth and confident with each step he took. With every step the less Chloe talked about the guys. She was fixated on him and he knew it so he flashed one of those perfect dimpled smiles to her.
She later found out from his buddies they dubbed that smiles as the panty-dropper. She could hear Shawn, Philip’s best friend in college now “whenever he gives that smile the panties drop for miles around”. Stephanie didn’t need Shawn to tell her that his smile was his greatest weapon. She could tell just by the way he flashed it so smoothly and effortlessly. That smile could get any woman’s heart racing.
He continued to flash that smile because it was obviously having that effect he desired on her good friend Chloe. She can admit it now it had an effect on her too, but she was just better at hiding it. When he came over he introduced himself and invited us to a party, Chloe practically leaped at the opportunity. Ever since that day Chloe has been head over heels for that man and attached to his hip. Philip was projected to be one of the top picks for the NFL Draft, but in his final game as a USC Trojan he injured his knee badly. This dashed his hopes of making it to the NFL. It seemed with the news of not making it to the NFL, he quickly changed his focus to his next best subject girls.
His player ways seem to get progressively worse by the year. Any big party in LA you can bet Philip Kiriakis was there, and he was definitely the life of the party. He would go to all of the new hot clubs, and he would be there all night with a legion of girls. That is till of course he would wear out his welcome at these places, and there were way too many places that he had done just that.
Chloe didn’t seem to mind the lifestyle. Chloe would tell her that, she was the one he came home to at night and that is all that mattered. Stephanie wondered what he was bringing home with him though when he came home. She was convinced Chloe was ok with this lifestyle because it was the same lifestyle she had grew up in and watched her mother live.
Chloe’s mother is arguably the 80’s biggest supermodel Nancy Carrington and her father 80’s biggest rocker Craig Lane. A match made in celebrity heaven and the paparazzi loved them, and still do. Her father lived the same fast pace lifestyle as Philip does now and Nancy would just turn a blind eye to it like Chloe is now.
Philip’s reckless and carefree attitude seemed to make his head just get more inflated by the second especially since the press loved him. His face was plastered on more magazine covers this past year then she could count.
He also continued to make People’s most eligible bachelors list. The fact that he makes this list year after year is a complete joke to her. Having a nice body shouldn’t get you on the list of most eligible bachelors. Who was she kidding that was the main criteria for the list, but it shouldn’t be.
She disliked the man, but she couldn’t deny his attractiveness. His chiseled body and that dimpled smile could make most girls lose their senses. When someone looked at his picture in the magazines, he seems like a guy’s guy who they can shot the breeze with, drink beer, and talk sports. To the ladies he looked like an All-American boy with a body to die for. So that is how he keeps making these lists.
Stephanie only agreed to being apart of the wedding because this is what Chloe truly wanted, and she was her best friend. This is what best friends do for each other, right? Even though her mind was screaming this marriage won’t work. Her friend had to find that out on her own.
When Chloe and Philip brought up the idea of having a joint bachelor and bachelorette party in Vegas, she should have put her foot down more firmly at this point. Of course, she was the only one that said no, and she was quickly labeled a prude. She just called it being sensible.
Then they all promised it would be fun and then everyone said in an obnoxious tone, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.” Living in LA she knew that wasn’t true. If there is more than one person around it will be around town before you knew it.
Stephanie tries to force herself up again, but this time under her small hand she felt a muscular arm underneath it. She felt her heart racing, this couldn’t be. She whips her head around quickly, maybe a little too quickly because now felt dizzy after doing so. Moving this quickly also stirred the mystery man that lay beside her. She wraps the sheets closer to her body and tries to think. She still couldn’t remember a damn thing about last night and she felt panic starting to overtake her nerves since she doesn’t know who is beside her.
The stranger had his back turned to her. There was one thing she could tell just from looking at him from behind he seemed very fit. He had a well defined back, and a nice tan and short golden brown hair it was almost like he was an Adonis. She tried to think back to last night to see if she remembered talking to a guy like this. She could think of nothing, which just frustrated her more.
All she remembers about that night is spending it mostly with the girls, and then half of the night with the guys from the bachelor party. She doesn’t remember talking to anyone else but them. Nathan made sure of that.
Nathan, her ex, was a part of the bachelor party. So he was practically smothering her the entire night. He made it very apparent, that he wanted to give their relationship another try. She didn’t know how she felt about it at the moment, especially with his track record. Philip had to have his wingman at the clubs and Nathan was becoming the best wingman.
He had his own legion of girls following him to now, and Stephanie had no intentions of sitting at home waiting for him after his wild nights on the town. So she ended things with him three months ago. Since he gave up the dream he told her. He wanted to be a doctor like his grandfather. Now he’s just out at the clubs with Philip.
Nathan had been trying very hard to win her back, and to make up his past indiscretions. He would send flowers, candy, cards, and all sorts of small gifts trying to win her back. He was a more attentive boyfriend when they were apart than when they were together.
She was contemplating if she should wake up this mystery man, or just make a run for it and never look back. She was getting more unnerved by the second that she couldn’t remember anything from last night. This by far had to be the wildest thing she has ever done.
Her friends would call her in the past, and tell her the jams that they have gotten themselves into. Hollywood kids’ nights on the town could be more scandalous than any soap opera or movie could ever depict. She had managed to be one of the kids that didn’t get into the spotlight for this reason. Her personal business remained private, and that was a hard feet to do in Los Angeles.
When you smile and you act so cookie cutter sweet for so long, you manage not to be in the papers. The only time she hits the papers is when she is shopping Rodeo Drive with her friends. Those were usually planned ops. Now that the shoe is on the other foot and she is in the jam, she does not like the feeling one bit. She can’t even say it is worth it since she can’t remember it.
She starts to wonder if the mystery guy had slipped something in her drink. That is the only way that she could have ended up in a situation like this. The thought made her pull the sheets closer to her body and she felt sick to her stomach.
She groans just thinking about if her father found out about what happened here. Her father, Steve Johnson, owned the Johnson Hotel chain and tons of upscale restaurants in LA, Atlanta, New York, and even one right here in Vegas. It is one of the biggest hotel chains in the United States. He may be a big business tycoon in LA but he still had his Midwest values in him through and through. He definitely didn’t tolerate any scandals or reckless behavior from family. Right now he had his share of issues dealing with the company.
He just found out his trusted right hand man Lawrence Cooper the CFO had been cooking the books for years costing the company millions. When the pieces were all put together he was long gone with her father’s money. Her father would never tell her the amount but she knows it is definitely not chump change.
The press is eating this story up right now constantly calling her parent’s home, and camping out in front of the company’s office building in downtown. They badgered employee who walked in and out for answers. If he found out about her carelessness here … she didn’t even want to think about how he would react. Especially since the family and the company are under enough scrutiny already.
Philip’s father, Victor Kiriakis, ran a rival hotel chain and right now it is the leading hotel chain in the nation. It seemed if there was a Johnson’s hotel in the vicinity, a Kiriakis hotel was not that far away from it. If Lawrence took so much money that her father would have to close some of the hotels it would kill him.
Her father and Victor had a friendly rivalry, but everyone in town knows they both want to be the best in the industry. They will do anything to be number one. Dealing with the Lawrence scandal right now is enough for her father. He definitely wouldn’t be happy if anything from this night hit a newsstand.
She decided retreating would be the best method for her right now. The one good thing was they were in Vegas and the paparazzi aren’t as bad here as they are in LA. She might be able to get out of this without it landing on the newsstands.
She moves slowly out of the bed. She successfully gets out without stirring the mystery man. She scans the room for her clothes, it seemed like all their clothes were scattered all over the floor. She moves his jeans and finds her red laced bra under them. Now she just needs to find the matching panties.
She finds her skirt on the ground not far from his jeans. She notices a small tear near her zipper on her skirt. Obviously she and the mysterious man got a little anxious and rough last night.
She looks around for her blouse and finally spots it out of the corner of her eye. It was under the bed on the mystery guy’s side. She groans before crawling under and reaching to get it. At the same time she sees two feet hit the floor right in front of her.
It felt like her heart was literally beating against her rib cage and begging to get out since the mystery man was now awake. She pulls the shirt to her and slowly starts to retreat back to her side of the bed. She couldn’t just sneak out and pretend nothing happened like she was planning. She would have to face the music. She hears him yawn and stretch like it is just another morning to him.
“Last night must have been wild babe I’m exhausted.” She heard him call out to her. Stephanie felt like her heart leapt to her throat now. The voice she heard was so familiar. This couldn’t be him. She slowly starts to sit up and her mystery man turns and they finally make eye contact.
“You!” They both scream at the same time.
She felt her stomach turning, she felt like she was going to be sick when she realized who was in the bed with her. The one man she hated most in this world, the groom Philip Kiriakis. She curses to herself she had to be the worse bridesmaid in history she had slept with the groom before the wedding.
“Oh my god.” Stephanie said starting to pace the floor the realization of what happened between them was setting in heavily. “Did you drug me?” Stephanie asked him while turning to face him angrily. Drugs would be the only reason to explain this situation. She couldn’t remember a thing and there was no way in her right mind would she have done anything like this with him unless she was under the influence of drugs.
“Are you serious?” He asked while standing up from the bed now too. When she doesn’t change her facial expression he realizes she is indeed serious. He rolls his eyes. “I don’t have to drug a woman to get her in my bed Stephanie. I sure as heck wouldn’t have drugged you.”
She rolls her eyes and pulls the bed sheet tighter to her body and turns away from him. “Well what the hell happened then?”
“I would like to know too. Last thing I remember was getting a drink for you and me from the bar.” Philip said while pacing the floor now himself.
“Did you get it from that blonde that was staring at you the whole night?” She asked him with a raised eyebrow.
When she sees a small smile curve on his lips she knew he did. The blonde girl that she is talking about was one of the bartenders at the bar. She practically mowed the other bartenders over to get a drink of Philip and his friends. She looked like she could have been taken off the latest cover of Playboy with her low cut shirt showing off her double D’s.
She flirted with Philip most of the night. Stephanie could bet her inheritance that she probably slipped something in those drinks. She probably thought it would be her big payday. She seen so many woman in LA do this, sucker the man for one night, and they end up funding their dreams and aspirations for that one screw up.
She looks over to see that he is still smiling about the bartender, and she picks up a pillow then throws it at him to snap him out of his trance over this girl. He winces then looks at her like ‘what did he do wrong’. They were in this mess because of him. “It was casual flirting. I didn’t think she would slip something in our drinks.” Philip retorted while sitting down on the edge of the bed.
“You shouldn’t be casually flirting.” Stephanie reminded him with her hands on her hips. “You’re supposed to be getting married next month if you haven’t forgotten.”
“I know that.” Philip said while running his hands through this short hair. “I mean no one would have to know.”
Stephanie does a quick dry laugh. It was typical for Philip to run away from his mess and have daddy fix it for him later. This one he was intending on trying to just brush it under the rug. She couldn’t judge him or fault him she was about to do the same thing herself if he hadn’t woken up.
“I mean really Steph. I don’t remember the night either do you so let’s forget it even happened.” Philip pleaded with her.
Stephanie really thought about it maybe this was for the best. Just forget it ever happened. She would stand up as her best friend maid of honor and wish them all the happiness in the world. This time she would truly mean it. Before she could answer him there was a soft knock at the door.
“Philip it’s me.” She heard her best friend Chloe Lane say on the other side of the door. They both turn and look at each other. When Stephanie thought it couldn’t get any worse it did. Chloe knocks on the door again and now Stephanie felt like her heart is in her throat again. Stephanie picks up her clothes and rushes into the bathroom and closes the door behind her quietly so Chloe doesn’t hear.
Philip tries to get himself together. He slips on his jeans before walking to the door. Stephanie peeps out and sees her matching red panties were hanging from the back pocket of his jeans. Before she could say anything he was opening the door and she shut the bathroom door back quietly. She prayed to herself that Chloe didn’t find her panties or her. “You’re such a ho.” She thought to herself. She takes a deep breathe there was no time for self-pity.
She usually had no sympathy for people in this situation. She used to think they deserved to be caught, because they willing got themselves in that situation by sleeping with a married man. Well she didn’t willingly get into the situation so she was praying she wasn’t caught. She couldn’t face her best friend ever again if she found out about this night.
She cracks the door again slightly to see what is going on. She sees Chloe wrapping her arms around Philip’s neck and giving him a deep kiss. Chloe was always a little over the top with affection. Every boyfriend she had was the one. She loved them all deeply and hard. She never missed a chance for PDA either. She wanted everyone to know how much she was in love the man of the moment. Every guy seemed to love her just as deeply so the make out sessions could get nauseating. Chloe was tall and curves to die for. Her hair was long and silky and she had the bluest eyes Stephanie has ever seen. Chloe starts pushing him towards the bed and he falls back on it. Chloe stands in front of him smiling. God she did not want to be stuck in the bathroom while he had sex with her friend right after her.
“Hello to you too babe.” Philip said while sitting up instead of pulling her down on the bed with him. Stephanie gives a sigh of relief after that. She was also happy that Chloe hasn’t spotted her panties yet.
“Just one more month till we are Mr. and Mrs. Philip Kiriakis.” Chloe beamed while showing off her rock. She did that every chance she got. Stephanie had to admit it was a pretty impressive ring. “I know I said we’d wait till our wedding night to be together again but you are making it hard.” She leans forward and kisses him again just as passionately as before.
“I know babe and I can’t wait.” Philip pulls away from her kisses and stands to his feet. He strokes her cheek and Chloe smiles back at him. Stephanie notices that he didn’t seem as eager as she was about this but she pushes those feelings aside. “You should be packing. Our flight is in a few hours.”
Philip starts to walk to the other side of the room and panic starts to set in with Stephanie. She was sure that Chloe would now see underwear and they would be caught.
She wanted to tell him to stop moving just stay in place, but she was also glad that he was trying to move her away from the bathroom. He pushes his hands in his back pockets while walking across the room. He brings attention to his butt and it seems Chloe zoned right in but the good thing is he shoved the panties down in the process.
“I am already packed. Everyone is headed downstairs for breakfast before the flight. So you are on the late show as usual.” She walks over to him and puts her arms around his waist and leans against his back. “I have been calling you all morning and Stephanie too. I couldn’t get a hold of either of you. So I stopped by to see you. She’s next on my list though. I can’t have the maid of honor and the groom MIA before the wedding. Nicole will probably flip. She has already called me three times this morning over the smallest things. I told her she is the wedding planner. I hired her to fix these issues that came along.”
“There is no need for Nicole to flip over this. She is probably out by the pool. It’s beautiful out.” Philip said quickly. Stephanie is impressed on how he could think so quickly on his toes. If it were her, the guilt would be written all over her face and they would be asking her what is wrong and she’d quickly crack. She is an awful liar.
“You’re probably right.” Chloe pulls away from him and turns so that she is now facing the bathroom door. Stephanie stumbles back a little it felt like she was staring right at her.
“Well let me get dressed and I’ll meet you downstairs.” Philip said while turning her around to face him again.
“Ok.” Chloe smiles at him and kisses him. “Hurry up.” She tells him before leaving the room.
Stephanie waits a moment before walking out of the bathroom. Philip turns to face her and smirks at him.
“You lie easily.” Stephanie told him while walking past him and heading to the other side of the room.
“It’s better than the truth.” He said while tugging at her bed sheet.
“Last night is the only night you get to see what is under this sheet.” She warned and she pulls the sheet closer to her body.
“You know I like a challenge.” He teased. She rolls her eyes and gives him a glare that made him feel like she was literally shooting daggers at him. “You can relax I was just messing around.”
“Well it wasn’t funny.” Stephanie walks behind him and grabs her panties from his back pocket. “You were dangerously close to being caught. She almost saw these.”
“Are you going to be able to keep this secret?” Philip asked her. “When you lie it’s written all over your face?” Stephanie scrunches her nose and rolls her eyes at him.
“I don’t want anyone to find out about this. This will be one secret I will keep till I go to my grave.” She gathers her stuff then goes back to the bathroom, and slips on her panties and puts her bra on. She looks at the shirt to see that it is missing most of its buttons and her skirt is ripped by the zipper. She pokes her head back out of the bathroom. “Can you loan me a shirt and some shorts. I can’t wear these.” She said while holding them up to him to see just what he did.
He gives her a cocky smile while walking over to his suitcase and pulls out a t-shirt and some basketball shorts and hands them to her. She slips them on and heads back into the room. She walks over to the dresser to find her room key so she can get out of here.
She sees a folded up piece of paper on the dresser. Something inside of her told her to leave it there and don’t look at it, but she just couldn’t. She opens it up and reads it then stumbles back on the bed and covers her mouth with her hand in disbelief.
“What’s wrong?” Philip asked. When he hears no answer he walks to her side of the bed. She has a shocked look on her face. “What?” he asks her and she just hands the paper to him unable to speak. He reads it now himself. “s**t, this can’t be.” He mumbled.
“It looks legit.” Stephanie said while taking a deep breath trying to digest this. “We’re married.”

What Happens in Vegas Stays In La-2
Philip looks at Stephanie stunned. Married, the words still stung in his ears. Chloe reminded him ten times on the flight here that it was just a month away, which made his palms sweat every time she said it.
To find out that there is no more wait that he was actually married made him feel nauseous and like he was hit by a train. He takes a seat on the bed next to Stephanie and still looked at the piece of paper in disbelief.
“I’m going to kill that blonde bimbo.” Stephanie said through gritted teeth.
“I don’t think you want a marriage scandal and a murder scandal all on the same day. I know how important your good girl image is to you” Philip retorted. He still stared at the paper in disbelief. He was married, and to Stephanie of all people.
“If you would worry about your image maybe we wouldn’t be in this situation.” Stephanie snapped back at him. She stands to her feet and starts to pace the floor. He noticed she did that when she was nervous. He hated it. It made it hard for him to think. “We can just get this marriage annulled and no one would know. I will call one of my father’s lawyers we can have this done in no time.” She walks over to her purse and starts looking for her cell phone.
Annulled, normally he would be all for this but he couldn’t get this marriage annulled.
“I can’t.” he said while getting up from the bed quickly now.
“You can’t what?” Stephanie asked while putting her hand on her hips and staring back at him quizzically.
“I can’t get a divorce.” he said while running his hand through his golden blonde hair.
“Don’t try to act like a strict catholic now.” Stephanie retorted with a stifled laugh. She grabs her cellphone out of her purse and starts looking through her contacts. “We can and we will get a divorce.”
“In all seriousness I can’t get a divorce.” Philip repeated while grabbing the phone from her.
She looks at him in disbelief, he could tell by her stare she was wondering if whatever this girl drugged them with was still in his system. He would have thought the same thing if he were her. But he absolutely couldn’t get this marriage annulled or get divorced for at least a year. She reaches for her phone right away. His arms are longer so he simply stretches the phone behind his head out of reach. She stumbles while trying to grab the phone sending them both onto the bed.
She stays on top of him for a moment while he stares into her eyes. He could feel the tension growing between them and she tried to use it to her advantage. She inches her lips closer to his, he could feel her warm breath against his lips. From the look in her eyes, he could tell she was surprised by the response her body was having from his warm breath and the sensation she was getting from the feel of his touch on her thighs since her eyes kept diverting down to his hand and then back up to him. He played it cool by keeping both of his hands rested right on the outside of her thighs right below her bottom, he didn’t move them just let his hands rest there. He could see from the look she gave him she forget her intentions which were to get her phone back so she could call her lawyers.
She brings her hands to his chest and starts to run her hands down it slowly. She lets her finger lingers on his ripped abs, she continues till she gets to the top of his jeans and her hand lands on his fastener. He can feel his lower half ready to come to life and he almost forgot her intentions too. He tries to think of anything unsexy at the moment, but it was hard since she was circling the fastener with her thumb as she stared in his eyes. She watched him and waited for him to make the first move and if he did there was no going back from that. She suddenly makes a quick grab for the phone remembering her true intentions when she started this little four-play. He was able to react quickly enough and keep the phone out of reach.
“I hate you.” She retorted while moving to get off of him. She rolls over on the bed and stares up at the ceiling. He wanted to say didn’t seem like that a second ago. He decided that would be dangerous right now.
“Oh come on wifey don’t be like that.” He teased her. He sits up and looks down at her and smiles.
“Don’t you call me that.” Stephanie said. She rolls over and turns her back to him.
She stands up from the bed now and looks out the window. She wouldn’t and couldn’t turn and face him right now. She was too angry at the moment. He didn’t make her face him because she probably wouldn’t listen to what he had to say. He needed her to listen to him.
“You showed your cards early. You are too good of a person and friend so I knew you would never kiss me or do anything else.” Philip said while slipping her phone in his pocket.
“You seemed eager to play along.” She said over her shoulder but still continues to look out the window.
“You did too.” Philip said. He moves towards her and Stephanie finally turns to face him.
“Start spilling on why we have to stay married.” Stephanie demanded. She no longer wanted to play any games with him.
“I think you are irresistible, sexy, and charming this was all a part of my elaborate plan to be with you.”
“I mean it Kiriakis.” Stephanie said sternly
“Ok, you’re no fun.” He joked. He walks over to the mini-bar. The last thing he should want is another drink, but realizing he was stuck in this jam with someone he hated this made him want to have not only a drink but a strong one. “I can’t divorce you because it would affect my trust fund.”
“How?” Stephanie asked, she was now intrigued that a divorce would somehow affect his trust fund. She walks over and takes the drink he got from the minibar and downs it herself. It burns going down. Philip stares at her.
“What? What’s your is mine and what’s mine is mine if we can’t get a divorce.” Stephanie said while putting her hands on her hips.
He laughs and gets another drink. She clears her throat to let him know she is still waiting for an explanation. He rolls his eyes and leans against the minibar and prepares to tell her the truth. He hasn’t told anyone this yet. So he knows she will be upset at first.
“My mom, the romantic, made a stipulation in my trust. If I get married I would have to stay married for at least a year I will get access to a portion of my trust fund. If we make it a full year I will also keep full access of 20% of my trust. Otherwise I will lose my trust and won’t be able to access that 20% again till I’m 40. “
“You have to be kidding me.” Stephanie yelled.
“I wish.” Philip said downing his drink. “For at least a year you have to be Mrs. Philip Kiriakis or I’ll lose my trust.”
“So, is this why you had the sudden urge to get married? So you can control your trust?” Stephanie asked him. When she didn’t get an answer he pretty much confirmed it to her. “You’re such a pig.”
“Now that isn’t the only reason I wanted to marry Chloe. I do love her. We’ve been together for a long time… But my father he cut me off six months ago.” Philip said angrily. He knew Chloe had told her that Victor had threatened to cut him off but by the look in her eyes. He knew she didn’t know it exactly happened till now. She takes a seat on the bed to let everything sink in. So he continued telling her the truth. “I had my cousin Justin look over the trust for anything that would let me get into it early, since I wouldn’t see any money from it then till I’m 40. He found this stipulation. My mother helped me out big time with this otherwise I’d be strapped for cash and would finally have to join the family business. I have no intention in doing that anytime soon.” His whole face tensed up with those last words.
Philip had no intention on ever joining the family business. That was his father’s thing not his. No matter how many times he said that his father never relented. He always thought he could change his mind somehow. His father didn’t support Philip’s dreams to be a music producer. It was either join the family business or no support at all. He would never join the family business. He wasn’t going to let his father control every aspect of his life.
“What do I get out of this pretending to be your wife?” Stephanie places her hands on her hips waiting for an answer. When he turns and smiles and she rolls her eyes like she usually does when she knows he was going to give her a smart ass remake. So he delivered one just like she was anticipating.
“One year of being known as Mrs. Philip Kiriakis would be worth it.”
“We can’t do this Philip.” Stephanie reiterates, before he can protest she continues. “Have you even thought about what this would do to Chloe your fiancé?” Philip remains silent when she says this. “Or even Nathan.”
He has thought about it. But they had no other choice right now. They would understand eventually. They had too.
“We could only tell them it’s a sham and that after a year or 14 months just to cover our bases, then this will all be over.”
“Oh yes let’s just tell them to put their lives on hold for us. They would never go for that.” Stephanie said angrily. “You know you can’t be married to me and carry on your relationship on with Chloe. The press will be chumping at the bit for a scandal because this will be scandal enough. They are going to be watching our every moves. If this relationship looks fake it will be all over the papers.”
He could read her face and see that she is already imagining the headlines painting her as the villain. He knows she cares about her good girl image. He wanted to stop her from thinking that way, but he could see that the wheels were already spinning.
“I realize that.” Philip said angrily. He runs his hands in his hair again and now starts to pace the floor. He sighs because he hated when she did that because he couldn’t think and now he was doing it himself. “As I said we can’t get a divorce. They will understand.”
“I doubt it.”
“If they love us like they say they do. I think they will understand. We really didn’t plan this whole thing out. This isn’t going to be a real marriage. We definitely don’t want this relationship to last past the year.”
“Definitely.” Stephanie chimed in. She didn’t want to be married to him more than she had to be.
“We just have to fake it for a year. For your cooperation I will give you a portion of the trust.”
“California is a half state in divorce not a portion.” Stephanie reminds him with a smile.
“Well you definitely aren’t getting half.” Philip told her. Now she was starting to wonder how much is twenty percent of his trust. Philip was an only child so he didn’t have to divide the money among other siblings like she had to with her brother Joe.
“Then what do I gain out of this marriage nothing but a headache. I think I’ll pass.” Stephanie grabs her purse and starts to head for the door.
“Alright.” Philip said through gritted teeth.
“Alright, what?” Stephanie asked him while crossing her arms over her chest.
“Alright to your terms, I need this money to start up my company.”
“Are you sure you want to do this. So many people come to Hollywood with your same dreams to be this big producer and make lots of cash and they end up penniless after they were used up by Hollywood’s best players.” Stephanie warned him.
“I have heard this speech from my father enough already. I’m sure of it.”
“So, how are we going to break the news to Chloe and Nathan?” Stephanie asked with a sigh.
This was the worst part of having to do this. Breaking the news to his fiancé and his best friend. He knew neither were going to take it well. Chloe definitely wasn’t going to take it well. He wondered if they were going to believe their story. He knew they hasd to tell them now before the story got out and they made up their minds on what they read and all second hand information.
“We are going to have to do it fast. News flies quick as you know it. This wedding won’t stay a secret long.” Philip said. It seemed as soon he said that his phone was vibrating and so was hers in his pocket. “So it begins.” He says before answering his phone. He turns his back to her and sighs.
“What?” Stephanie asked as she bit her lip. He wasn’t sure if she was truly ready to hear the answer.
“Apparently we are all over TMZ sweetie.” Philip said while turning to face her. “We better get them in here now and get out of this hotel before it becomes a circus. You call Nathan I will call Chloe”
Philip tosses Stephanie her phone so she can call. He glances over to see that she is looking at something intently. He walks over and looks over her shoulder. She was on the web on TMZ’s website and they had a picture of them at the chapel. Her arms were draped around his neck and she is looking into his eyes. Hollywood’s Biggest Wedding Shocker was the captain under the pic. She groans and runs her hands over her face then looks back at him.
“No time for moping, call.” Philip instructed her. Stephanie frowns at him. He could tell she was not like his bossiness right now, but he needed to be direct with her and make sure she was doing what he said. He could tell the situation is sinking in for her and right now it’s like she was in quick sand and she wasn’t reacting to anything out of shock.
He watches her while she opens her phone. She opts to text him and not call him. He didn’t blame her. It was going to get hard when they actually arrived here.
“I feel like I’m going to be sick.” Stephanie said while pacing the room. She was so anxious while they waited for Nathan and Chloe.
“We have no time for that.” Philip said with a sigh. Even when he said the words he felt like he was going to be sick. This is the last thing he thought could have happened to him on this trip to Vegas. Now this mistake will haunt him for the year. He heard a faint knock on the door. This must be Chloe and Nathan, it was now or never time Philip thought while he walked over to the door to open it.

Thanks everyone. I'm glad you are enjoying the story. Here's another chapter.
What Happens in Vegas Stays In LA-3
Stephanie had no idea that her best friend could screech so loud. She saw a wave of emotions from Chloe. She went from rage, to crying almost uncontrollably, to calm and cool, then back to rage. She was hoping that the rage would subside so they could go back to the cool, calm, and rational side to her.
Nathan on the other had has been silent and stoic since the reveal. He’s just stared straight forward not looking at either one of them, while Chloe has been the one reacting to this whole situation. His demeanor made her more nervous. She knew he had hurt him and she never wanted to hurt him this way. Even if they weren’t together, she knew this still hurt him since he wanted them to be together.
“It’s not like we planned this.” Philip said. He runs his hand through his hair and gives an exasperated sigh. Stephanie glares at him every time he said that it seemed like it sent Chloe over the edge. Wouldn’t he learn already this wasn’t the best move to use with her?
“Does that make us feel any better?” Chloe asked. She practically yelled it on the top of her lungs. “Can you imagine what everyone is going to say when we get home?” Chloe drew out every word in her sentence to make the image so horrifying. Stephanie just nods her head sympathetically. She learned this is the only thing working in her attempt to try and keep Chloe calm.
“I won’t be able to show my face at certain places for a while Philip. Everyone is going to talk about how my best friend stole my fiancé right from under my nose.” Chloe turns to look at Stephanie now and gave her the iciest glare. Stephanie stops nodding her head, and squirms on the bed and looks over at Philip for a little help. He was silent for the first time in his life. She gives him a slight plea to help her out. She didn’t want to say much because she couldn’t defend what was happening. She felt awful.
“It’s going to be tough for everyone. We get that. We’re not going to enjoy this either.” Philip said with a sigh. “I’m sorry babe but who gives a damn what people think. You know how things are in Hollywood they will talk about this for a week and they will forget it even happened. You don’t have to doubt what is going on between us. I love you Chloe.”
“I love you too.” Chloe said. She sighs. ”For a whole year I have to act like I can’t stand you, while you play husband and wife with my best friend. Maybe it won’t be an act when it’s all over?”
“Chloe.” Philip said while walking over and taking her hands. She looks away from him.
“Look at me baby.” He pleaded with her. He starts to massage her hand and she finally turns to look at him. He brushes back a few hairs that had fallen along her face and she smiles at him. Stephanie could see Chloe’s whole demeanor changing just from his touch and that stare. Magic hands was showing off his skills and chipping away at that big iceberg that formed around her heart with the news.
“I’m looking at you.” Chloe said while pulling her hands away.
“You know you’re the one I want to spend the rest of my life with and I will. Nothing can stop that from happening.” Philip told her.
“Nothing.” She repeated.
“Nothing.” Philip said firmly.
“How are you guys going to pull this off?” Nathan asked. Stephanie had almost forgotten he was in the room he was so silent. He still wasn’t looking at either of them just straight forward.
When he turned to look at her she wished he hadn’t. His face was so full of hurt and pain. She immediately looked away no longer able to take this stare down.
“What is dear old dad going to say about this?” Nathan asked while walking closer to her.
Just mentioning her father’s reaction sent a chill up her spine. Everyone knows that her father and Victor Kiriakis don’t get along. The rivalry between the hotels can get intense at times. Whenever the two men were in the same building everything became a competition. So when he found out that she was married to a Kirakis. He would be livid. Nathan knew she was a daddy’s girl and having to tell her father she was married to Philip was going to be the hardest person to give the news too.
“We will smooth it out between our families but they will think this is a real union.” Philip stated. Chloe looked at him shocked that he is stating this. “The only people that will know that this is not real, is the people in this room.”
“You’re a fool if you think this will work.” Nathan said angrily. “What are Chloe and I supposed to do? Sit here and wait for you guys to stop playing house for everyone else. You expect us to do this for a year.” Nathan all but roared on the last statement which made Stephanie jump. She has never seen him this angry.
“I feel terrible that we have to ask you guys to do this. You know I’m cut off and I need this money to start our dreams man of opening this recording company.”
“There are no other stipulations that you can get into your trust earlier or regain access?” Nathan asked.
“None.” Philip sighs. “We will only do this for the year. We will get into a fight start to distance ourselves. She’ll be seen in public without the ring. The gossip mills will report about that and then the big split. It will be over before you know it. ”
“Seems like you have this all planned out already.” Chloe said in a harsh tone. “Do we have a choice in the matter anyway? Seems like your mind is made up already,”
“If there were some other way I’d be all ears for it.” Philip said.
“How about get a divorce and work at your father’s company like he wants in order to get the money that way.” Chloe suggested.
“You know that is not an option.” Philip said coldly.
She thought Nathan had given an icy glare, but Philip’s was far worse. She thought the temperature in the room literally dropped. She hadn’t realized his relationship with his father was this bad. Chloe had mentioned numerous times that things were rocky between them but now it is starting to sink in.
“Don’t be surprised if you come back in a year and Nathan and I aren’t here waiting.” Chloe said while walking out. Nathan wasn’t too far on her heels.
“Do you think it was a good idea for us to tell them?” Stephanie said. She bits her bottom lip to try to calm her nerves.
“They won’t say anything. They are just angry.” Philip said. “They wouldn’t betray us like that.”
“They probably thought we would never betray them like this.” Stephanie pointed out.
“It’s not like we planned it. We aren’t even interested in each other that way. I’m sure just like me you can’t wait for this year to be over.” Philip said with a laugh.
Stephanie sits down on the bed and looks down at her hands. Yes, she couldn’t wait for the year to be over either. She normally wouldn’t agree to anything like this. She was the sensible one out of the group. She would have told him he was nuts and walked right out of the hotel room and gotten the divorce. No matter how much he begged and pleaded with him.
She only agreed to this because her father and his company needed this money to keep the business successful and afloat. He wouldn’t tell her how bad this money situation was, but she knows it is worse than he had been letting on since he wants to close hotels.
“You are overthinking this. I can see it in your eyes.” Philip said while sitting next to her. “Relax things are going to be okay.”
“Someone has to think this over. Everything isn’t going to be as easy as you’re making this seem Philip.” Stephanie stands up and looks out his balcony window. She was waiting for his response so she was already thinking of her comeback. Someone had to be rational about this and realize this wasn’t going to be as easy as he was making this. She turns to see that he isn’t even playing attention he is looking at his phone.
“We better get dressed, and head down to your room to get your things. I hear the paparazzi are already making a circus out of this. They are swarming the lobby. We have to take the back elevator down and exit through the back entrance.”
Things seemed to be moving so quickly. It was all surreal to her. Stephanie felt like this was a dream that she just couldn’t wake up from. Philip seemed to be moving through his hotel room in lighting speed getting everything into his bag. He puts on a clean shirt and his shoes before she could even blink.
He turns to face her now. So she stands up from the bed before he starts ordering her to do so. She felt like she was outside of her body right now and watching everything going on, not really living through the situation. He grabs his bag and puts his wallet in his back pocket.
The last thing he grabs is that damn marriage license. The thing that was keeping her in this messy situation. He puts it in his bag and then turns to her again before heading to the door.
They get to her room and Philip seems to move at that same lightning speed in there too. She was grateful that he was able to react and move so quickly because it felt like her feet were in quick sand.
“Is there anything else in here you need Stephanie?” Philip asked her. She shook her head no. With that they were on their way to the back elevator and out of the hotel. He had a car waiting for them outside. He takes her hand and leads her over to the car.
As soon as she hears the door slam the realization of what really was going on started to sink in and she had so many questions about the situation.
“Where are we going to stay?” Stephanie blurted out and turns to look at him.
“My place.” Philip grumbles quickly. “Take us to the airport.” He ordered the driver.
“Your place.” Stephanie repeated. She could just envision what sort of bachelor pad he was staying in.
“I guess it will be our place for now.” Philip said with a sigh. “I just bought a home near the beach. You will love it there.” Philip said while looking out of the window. Stephanie briefly remembers Chloe mentioning this to her.
“How many bedrooms does this place have?” Stephanie asked.
“Five.” Philip told her quickly. She gives a sigh of relief. She would have plenty of room to hide from him in this place. She knew she was going to need it.

What happens in Vegas stays in LA
Stephanie looks out the window and stares at sunset over the Pacific. This was a site she usually loved. It always made her feel a sense of home when she got back from a trip. Today her nerves have been going haywire after everything she’s gone through this morning. Since they took a private jet they were able to avoid a media circus at the airport, but she knew one was coming and she wouldn’t be able to postpone the inventible.
Just thinking about it sent a shiver down her spine. She looks down at her phone it was lighting up and vibrating again. Her phone has been ringing nonstop since the news broke. Their marriage was being discussed on every outlet from radio, tv, and social media sources. She couldn’t believe how big the story had gotten already. She thought she would at least be able to ignore this till tomorrow. Well she was going to do her best to ignore it tonight and make a game plan. She was going to need a good one to help spin this disaster.
“We are almost there.” Philip glances over to tell her. She was glad she just desperately wanted to get into bed and ignore everything. She just wishes that it was her bed. She was going to have to get used to staying at Philip’s.
“When do you want to tell the parents?” Stephanie teased. She flips on the radio to break the silence that was heavy in the car.
“Never.” Philip said with a laugh. She could hear them now. She knew that most of the missed calls they shared were probably their parents.
“Never isn’t going to work with our parents. So let’s be realistic about this.” Stephanie said.
“Let’s give them a few days to cool off.” Philip said he clinches his fists and turns to look out the window now.
A few days to cool off won’t help either but she wasn’t going to push any further. She could see from his body language, not to push this right now. The driver pulled up to this beautiful beach front house. This would be home sweet home for the next year.
The driver steps out of the car and rounds the car to let her out first then Philip next. He grabs their bags from the trunk and starts to head to the door. Stephanie walks behind him and Philip follows suit.
She feels Philip place his hand on her lower back to guide her along the walkway. She wanted to shrug away from him but she couldn’t. There could be a pesky paparazzi around waiting to get the angry money shot. She realizes she has to lighten up. They were going to have to do this for a year. She moves in closer to him. Trying to get comfortable and used to this, luckily his walkway isn’t a huge one. They were already at the door so she didn’t have to prolong this fake intimacy.
He opens the door for her and she steps inside his home. She had braced herself for the worse. She was pleasantly surprised to see that his home was actually well put together. As soon as you walk in there is a spiraling staircase, off to the right is the living room. It’s spacious and has a modern chic design. The first thing she was drawn to was the fire place. It was huge and a smokey gray like this love seats. His couch was white and long. She ran her hand along the back.
“Nice place so far.” She said while she continued to take in the room.
“See I told you that you would love it.” Philip told her.
“I didn’t say that yet.”
“Where will I be staying? I want to get settled. I’m exhausted.” Stephanie said while leaning against the couch.
“I let you go to Vegas for one weekend and you get married to that boring debutante.” This fiery red head said while walking in the room. The girl didn’t stop her statement even when she saw Stephanie was standing right there. She just turned and glared at Stephanie with her arms folded. Stephanie wondered who the hell was she? Why did she act like she owned the place?
“Mel, don’t start.” Philip warned while holding his head. Stephanie turns to look at him in disbelief. She can’t believe that is the way he defended her.
At least she knew the woman’s name now but she still wanted to know who was she, and what was she doing here?
“Don’t start. I think you needed my words of wisdom. I never thought you’d bring her here. I thought it was just a joke. I thought you’d be telling me those pics were fakes.”
“This marriage is no joke Melanie.” Philip said while walking over to Stephanie and grabbing her hand. “She is my wife. This marriage is real.”
“Spare me this fake declaration of love.” Melanie said while putting her hands on her hips. She turns her eyes back on Stephanie. Those blues eyes seemed to be sizing her up. Stephanie doesn’t budge, she didn’t want Melanie to think this stare down was intimidating her.
The girl definitely wasn’t the type that Philip usually hung around with. She was about an average height, very skinny the model type of skinny that you see all the time in Hollywood. Stephanie wondered if her height kept her from modeling because after the rough exterior she has the looks definitely. She had some red skinny jeans on and old school rolling stones tee shirt on. She doesn’t look old enough to know anything about their music.
“There’s nothing fake about it.” Stephanie told her. She interlocks their hands together now and looks Philip in the eyes and smiles. She hopes their looks and demeanor were convincing.
“So when did this love affair start?” Melanie asked him while moving closer. “I mean when you left for Vegas. You were going to have bachelor and bachelorette party with your fiancé Chloe. That was just three days ago. So how did you switch partners so quickly.”
“You don’t know everything that happens in this house.” Philip told her while pulling Stephanie hard against his body. Stephanie didn’t like the innuendo implied with that statement but she knew she had to keep the act up.
“If I did you probably wouldn’t end up in half the mess that you usually do.”
“You’re pushing it tonight Melanie.” Philip warned her.
Stephanie notices that she smiles to try to smooth everything out.
“You kept the house in pretty good order. What’s on the menu tonight?”
“It’s my job so of course the house is in order. I’ll whip you up whatever you want tonight.”
Stephanie looks over at Philip in disbelief. This girl was his housekeeper. She looked like she was barely 21 and one of the bad upset teens in a lifetime tv movie. Definitely not a housekeeper.
“Surprise us.” Philip told her. Stephanie noticed how her nose crinkled up at the mention of the word us. She wonders if Melanie harbors feelings for Philip? “Come on lets go to our room.” Philip tugs Stephanie’s hand and leads her up the staircase.
“Our room.” Stephanie whispered forcefully. She looks over her shoulder to ensure that Melanie wasn’t in earshot. “I thought this being a five bedroom house I’d get my own room.”
“One room is my office, entertainment room, Mel has her room and the guest room is right next to Mel’s. You saw how she questioned us downstairs. You sleep in their one night she won’t believe us at all.” Philip warned her.
“I don’t care that’s where I will be staying in the guest room.” She whispered while stomping up the stairs.
Stephanie puts the last pillow in place for the barrier on the bed. If she was going to stay in bed with him she sure as hell was going to keep as much distance as she could. Philip rolls his eyes before he pulls the blanket back to get into his side of the bed. Stephanie didn’t care. She sits down and gets on her side of the bed now.
“Is this really necessary?” Philp asked. He prompts himself up to look at Stephanie.
“Yes.” Stephanie told him. She rolls over so her back is now facing him. Philip laughs and she tugs the covers over her shoulders to block him out.
Stephanie feels the pillows move and before she could react she felt Philip’s hands around her waist pulling her square against his body. He runs his hand up and down her thigh and she feels her breathe hitch and her heart start to beat out of control.
“These pillows couldn’t keep me away if I don’t want them too.” Philip whispered her in her ear.
“The floor will. That’s where you’ll be sleeping if you keep this up. That constitutes us staying in the same room.” Stephanie warned him. Philip laughs full heartedly in her ear. She feels his warm breathe on her neck and it was driving her wild. He pulls away from her and rebuilds her safe fortress. Her heart rate finally starts to cool down and she regains her equilibrium.
“Good night Princess.” He chuckles before rolling over turning his back to her now. She turns away from him too. She hated when he called her princess. She hated everything about this situation. She yanks the covers to pull them up to her shoulders. Philip laughs now since he was barely covered now.

BradyDiva I didn't know you were already writing another fan fic. I will have to catch up this weekend. You really do have to catch up villa281. You will love this story. It's so creative and imaginative and sexy and original. I can see it being made into a Hallmark Channel movie. I cannot imagine how hard this is on Chloe. All her plans and dreams going up in smoke and wondering whether Philip and Stephanie will start to believe the scheme. I'd be very uncomfortable with the pretense if I was Chloe. And now Melanie? Philip's housekeeper? Or is she more than that? I love this story bradydiva06! Looking forward to the next update.

This story gets better and better. Philip is in way over his head dealing with Stephanie, Chloe and Melanie. Stephanie had no idea she'd have to keep up the pretense in the house. Philip should have warned her. I can hardly wait to read more.
