This is the Finals of DANCING WITH THE STARS!!! Here we are. At the end of our sparkly journey. Only three more routines to dance and then a winner will be crowned. Two dances tonight - the Judges choice and the always fun Freestyle. How will your favorite do?


Chelsea and Mark - Judges Choice (Samba) – After some lame “coaching” from Carrie Ann, Chelsea is off to sexy-dance the Samba, but, oh no! It’s a fringe attack!! Everybody run!!! Ok, back to the dancing. It seemed like a really short routine. I looked down to type a sentence and it was over. Had to rewind it to make sure I saw everything, and for the finals, *shrugs* it was just ok for me. Nothing spectacular. My Score: 8 Judges Score: 29 (10, 9, 10)

Freestyle – It looked like Mark’s version of street dancing with some lifts thrown in. Maybe I just didn’t get it. There have been some amazing freestyles in the show’s history, and this really wasn’t one of them. When you have to rely on light-up gloves and shoes, to me, that means something is really missing from your dancing. Too chaotic, not enough polish. And that baby-poop green "suit" Mark was wearing? Yuck! My Score: 8 Judges Score: 30 (10, 10, 10)

Kirstie and Maks – Judges Choice (Samba) – After some, surprisingly useful coaching from Bruno, Kirstie was ready to go. Unfortunately, she looked a little like she was thinking too much, but overall, I think she did a great job. Ironically, she came across as way sexier than Chelsea. At least to me anyway. My Score: 9 Judges Score: 27 (9, 9, 9)

Freestyle – Wow. I am really impressed by her. And by him!!!!! She has really slimmed down during the show and looks great. Maks lifted her like it was nothing. I want him to pick me up like that. *sigh* There were a couple of rough spots, but she laid it all out there and I’m proud of her. Plus, she’s 60 and she was in head to toe spandex. Good for her. My Score: 10 Judges Score: 27 (9, 9, 9) The audience booed at their low scores. I’m glad someone was paying attention. Too bad it wasn’t the judges.

Hines and Kym – Judges Choice (Quickstep) – The only time I like Len is when he coaches in the last week and, true to form, he offered some real advice that was actually useful. I like that you can tell that Len actually used to dance Ballroom and, in fact, DOES know what he’s talking about (unlike some other judges that will remain nameless *COUGH*Carrie Ann, Bruno *COUGH* As for Hines, I just love this guy. He is so fracking adorable. I dare you to watch this routine and not grin like an idiot the whole time. My Score: 10 Judges Score: 29 (10, 9, 10)

Freestyle – YAY!!!!!!! He killed it!!!!!! Now THAT will go down in the record books as one of the best freestyles in history!!! Based on the freestyles tonight, I’d say Hines just won the whole dang thing. And he deserves it! My Score: 10 Judges Score: 30 (10, 10, 10)

So, clearly, I was NOT impressed by Chelsea and the judges were not impressed with Kirstie, but we can all agree that Hines was darn near perfect. They still have one more routine to dance tonight (the Redemption dance?) and those scores will count towards the final numbers. Typically, they give everyone 30’s for the final dance so the “votes” aren’t influenced by the final marks. And while I’m nearly 95% confident that Hines is going to win, there’s always that little tiny bit of me that worries the producers will do something stupid and award Chelsea the mirror-ball trophy. But I’m pretty sure the fans will riot if that happens, so CONGRATS HINES!!!

I thought it was pretty sad that Chelsea and Mark had to rely on flashing lights for their freestyle when Kirstie went out there and bared her soul. I loved their freestyle, but Maks has a tendency to do a lower key freestyle that doesn't typically translate well to most viewers. Those that actually dance and appreciate dance get it and love it but for the masses they see it as boring. If Chelsea wins I will be torked off. Her samba was blah to me. I much prefer Kirstie's over hers but what do you do? Hines all around was just amazing. I really hope he wins. Another thing they are doing different is you can vote online until 11 am today which is surprising. I am wondering how that will affect the results.

I didn't like Maks contemporary freestyle with Erin. That drove me nuts. I hate contemporary. They look like they are running around and just flailing their body parts lol

I didn't like Mark and Chelsea's freestyle. It was just too club like dancing for me. I dunno. It didn't do it for me. Hines' was out of this world amazing!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one that was not impressed with Chelsea. Have I mentioned before how much I hate the judges?

I just think they see things differently than I do. I don't have the love affair with Chelsea that they do.

I like figure skating. I enjoy the lines, and the music, and how graceful yet athletic they can be, but I would never say I could judge anything about it. That's about how much ability Carrie Ann and Bruno have to be able to "judge" Ballroom. There are so many other personable (and knowledgeable) Ballroom personalities and former champions that judge actual competitions all the time. I still can't understand why they chose the judges they did and it infuriates me every time I think about it.

Who knows. I think they went more for personality than actual ballroom knowledge.

I LOVED Hines and Kym's dances. DD, you took the words right out of my mouth about 'grinning like an idiot'. I actually just caught myself last night with a huge grin on my face without realizing it. That happens every time I see Hines dance. There is just something so infectious about his dancing, his personality that comes through the TV screen at me. That Freestyle was absolutely amazing. I was super impressed with Kym for doing some lifts.

I did like how Kirstie's and Hines' freestyles did incorporate some elements of the various dances. Chelsea and Mark's just didn't, to my non-dancer eyes at least. With the lights, they tried to go for the audience 'wow' factor and for me, it was good but not impressive. And yes, it did just come off as 'club dancing' with those lights. With Kirstie, I loved her sensuality and I loved how the judges kept talking about 'womanhood' for both her and Chelsea. 'Womanhood' is not what I would use to describe Chelsea or her samba; it's what I would say about Kirstie and her samba though. And yes, those fringe pants, the moment I saw them I thought of this board and how everyone hates them!

Is it just me or has Kym lost a ton of weight? She used to have quite large "girls" and now she is stick thin.

Hines and Kym are what ballroom dancing is all about! They glide around the floor, pleasing to look at, fun to watch, I enjoy them so much!!! 10 are all around!

Kirstie and Maks are amazing considering her age, she can dance circles around Chelsea! I think the judges robbed them last night! 10’s

Chelsea and Mark if they can’t shake their butts in every dance they think they aren’t dancing. Their freestyle last night was not ballroom dancing! 8’s!
