I am not shocked at all...about time. You can't have a one note cartoon "villain" as a regular character on a soap. Without layers you have nothing to work with. She would become like Stefano was pre-Higley - a joke...he committed every crime in town, a victim of bad one dimensional writing.

Wow! Pretty big news. I'm hoping this means she does pay for what she did to Eric. I also hope Days creators are working hard to find someone to fill the huge void that will be left. I think her exit and Will/Chandler's are both huge and close together. They have quite a few exits coming soon.

I look forward to Brady finding out the truth and seeing the fallout regarding the video. Looks like her last months will be good.

I am shocked that she is leaving. I didn't see that coming. Days has so mnay people leaving....Kristen, Chad, Will, and Gabby. For me, Days hasn't been the same in 2 years and it seems like it isn't getting better......I hope it gets back to the way it used to be.....

They actually did give her layers this time around, she was not as cartoonish as one note as the last time around. I wasn't a fan of Kristin in the 1990's and I thought it was horrible idea to bring her back, but I have actually enjoyed her this time around. This is going to be a big loss for the show, Kristin is a big reason for Days turn around.

I need more than what they've given her. And her having feelings for Brady, despite her plans/plots, is not enough for me. Vivian had a heart too, and she was at times off her rocker, and still she came across more dimensional than this woman. So maybe it is the character combined with the characters around her? I don't know...but Kristen never worked for me, no matter how well Eileen played her.

The show just needs to let their characters be gray...like Sami's actions...perfect example...she just can't be one of the few who get to DO things. If everyone is allowed to have flaws, you don't need to have a character like Kristen do all the dirty work in town. She could be written with more goals, hopes, dreams, passions, that are in constant conflict with her "darker" side...like Nicole or EJ. That would have made her sustainable. As written she is the type of character that comes into town creates havoc and either is killed, run out of town, or jailed...just like a villain at the end of an action movie.

But this time, they gave her humanity. I found myself rooting for her frequently (something I never do with Sami). In my opinion, she's a key reason Days won best drama this year. However, to slyn11's point, I feel they made her unredeemable with her rape of Eric, and there is no way she could stay after that. She will be a huge loss for the show.

UGH Kpatch do not get me started on Best Drama Days win. LOL Only because they haven't won since the 70s am I being nice about it. As far as Kristen, I have higher expectations than that from a character. A good writer could redeem her...and an open minded audience that likes to walk on the darker side of life could watch it play out... But I actually thought she was leaving months ago. She felt temporary to me.

They kind of jumped the shark with her character when she actually seduced and recorded Eric. She isn't rootable any more. Now, staging it so she had pictures, yes, but actually doing the deed, no.
She was fun this time around, esp. since she was just Kristen, and wasn't the many dumb manifestations.

I'm going to miss her on the show. I'm wondering if they are going to bring back some characters. They are losing alot of stars on the show now. Days has to look to start bringing back some fan faves.

How would everyone feel if they recast the role?

I dislike recasts so I would vote no.

My, look at the nice new board! How's everyone doing? I figured I'd stop by and leave my two cents. I agree with slyn11. I'm not sad to see Eileen go at all. I don't hold any hope out from reading Corday's SOD interview, but I'd rather that money be sunk back into Matt Ashford, Peter Reckell, Bryan Dattilo, Drake Hogestyn... hell, throw in Stephen Nichols and Charles Shaughnessy and I'd be happy. Can we throw out TomSell as well? Bring back Sheri Anderson, if only because that might get Molly Burnett to come back too. I want a return to the Days I loved in the 1980s and 1990s. This wasn't it. So many fans have given up on this show, and I fear Days is headed toward another audience meltdown.
