Here is a list of commonly used acronyms and abbreviations. This list is a work in progress and is by no means all-inclusive, so please feel free to hit reply and add to the list. This will help us all to better understand members' posts. Note that any definitions you add may get moved to the Master List.
@ - At; often used before another poster’s name to specify that a post or portion of a post is in response to their comments. AKA – Also known as BTW – By the way DOOL – Days of Our Lives ETA – Edited to add FYI – For your information HP - Hysterical pregnancy IA – I agree; see also ITA ICAM – I couldn’t agree more IDK - I don't know IIRC – If I remember correctly IMO – In my opinion; see also IMHO and JMO IMHO – In my humble opinion; see also IMO and JMO IRL – In real life; see also RL ISTG - I swear to God. ITA – I totally agree; see also IA J/K – Just kidding JMO – Just my opinion; see also IMO and IMHO LOL – Laughing out loud; see also LMAO and ROFL LMAO – Laughing my a** off; please stick to LOL or ROFL at this site OMG – Oh my G_d ONS - One-night stand OT – Off topic RL – Real life; see also IRL ROTFL – Rolling on the floor laughing; can also be abbreviated as ROFL. See also LOL and LMAO. 'Ship - Short for worship, as in worshiping a character or a couple. SL – Storyline SORAS – Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome, a reference to the accelerated aging process that plagues so many of the youth in Salem and other soap towns SSK – Salem Serial Killer, a controversial storyline that still seems to frequent current Days’ discussions. TIIC – The idiots in charge; as tempting as it may be sometimes, please do not use it at this site. See also TPTB. TPTB – The powers that be; commonly used as a general reference to the decision makers at Days of Our Lives. See also TIIC. WTD – Who’s the daddy? WTH – What the hell? Note: if you happen to know the similar abbreviation to this one, do not use it here. We prefer no obscenities at the site but will tolerate infrequent use (or reference to) words used on the show, but words (including abbreviations) not allowed on daytime television are not allowed on this site. Wow,who would of thought slang can be useful to shortened the sentences. I love that.Thank you kpath.your knowledge is our catch,learn and memorized :)
