Lately when I try to post a tag I will put the capital letters as the name is, but when I hit post, it shows up in lower case thus the tag doesn't work. Then when I hit edit, it shows as capitals... HUH??? Is anyone else having this problem? It's only on the names with capitals as MrsM or Kpatch for example....

It all depends on their display name in their profile settings. to tag kpatch, you have to use @ jkjpatch - yet kpatch is all that shows up. For MrsM - you have use @ mrsmahaffy and MrsM displays. When tagging, it doesn't matter if you use all caps or not, whatever the display name is they have in their settings is the name that will show up. I could use @ JKJPATCH and you would still only see kpatch.

Ok, color me dumb..isn't the display name in their setting the same name that shows up above member on the left? If they are different names, then it seems rather complicated to stop each time & look up in a person's settings.. am I understanding this right? I thought you could just @mrsm and it would tag, but it's not.
See it didn't tag and I am in edit mode now.. The 2 M's are capitalized here but not after I post it..

A lot of times when I'm trying to tag, if it doesn't take, I go into the Reply area instead of just the quick reply, hit tag and type the first couple of letters. That will give you some options of members to choose from then you can see how they are listed. kpatch & MrsM were the two that tripped me up quite a bit too at first.

mae00 is correct. Sorry to trip you up. I registered as jkjpatch originally, so that is my official name. Somewhere along the line I changed the display name to kpatch since that's how most members know me. I could change my display name every day of the week if I wanted to, but not my official name that I registered with. And that's the name that has to be used in the tags. Yeah, I know, too complicated.

Yup to tag me you have to use @ mrsmahaffy. That was my original name but I didn't like having my full last name on here.

There's a How-To section with info about these kinds of things. It's still a work in progress. How-To Section
