The reason why I remember is because both of Shane and Kimberly's children got their first names from Shane's parents and their middle names from Kimberly's parents. Their son is Andrew Shawn, Andrew was the name of Shane's father and Shawn is Kimberly's father. Their daughter is Jeannie Caroline, Jeannie was the name of Shane's mother and Caroline is Kimberly's mother.

I was thinking that Jeannie was Shane's mom's name. Maybe Teresa is her confirmation name.

I had read on wikipedia that her middle name was Caroline. That's the only reason why I knew from what I've read online.

If we can find the answers on wikipedia then the writers should be able to find them. If the writers just don't care for a name then use a variation of it rather than a random name.

The show never established Jeannie's middle name, and there actually has been a fair amount of discussion about her name among Shane and Kim fans over the years. She was only introduced as "Jeannie" when Kim returned to Salem in 1991, several months after she was born. When Kim told Shane that the baby's name was Jeannie and he said it was his mother's name, it contradicted what the writers had established only a year earlier. During the amnesia storyline, Shane said his mother's name was Margaret while under hypnosis. So a common fanwank is that "Jeannie" is from Shane's mother's middle name and he full name was Margaret Jean. I've seen that full name used in a couple of fanfics for Shane and Kim's daughter as well.
What really was bizarre about the whole name was that Kim would name her baby after Shane's mother: (1) when she thought the child was Cal's; (2) when she had just walked out on Shane and left Salem only a few weeks before giving birth; and (3) when she didn't even tell Shane the girl's name until five month later.
I know the theory behind Jeannie's middle name being Caroline is that Shane and Kim used the same naming convention for both Andrew and Jeannie (first name from Shane's parent and middle name from Kim's), but there were significant reasons why Andrew was named as he was. When Andrew was born, Kim's decision to name him after Shane's father had a lot of symbolic meaning at the time. She didn't know if Andrew was Shane's or Victor's, so she chose a name that linked him to Shane (who was insisting that he was Andrew's father no matter the outcome of the blood tests). Kim gave him the middle name Shawn because she did not want Shawn Sr. to feel slighted that his "best and brightest" did not name her first son after her father. Kim had a different relationship with Caroline and Carrie already was named after her grandmother.

Sorry slyn11. She is Jeannie Donovan. Just goes by her middle name of Theresa. They lost me putting her in a story with JJ anyway. Two strikes against her with the Brady connection. Just glad she has edge. |
