I don't know if Phillips feelings for Chloe are based on the fact that he thought she was the mother of his child or bacause he really loved her! If it is the former then I think he needs to give Melanie another shot!! |

I think Phillip is still hurting over losing Parker as his son to know what he really wants. I know the easy thing to do would be to jump right back into Melanie's arms but I think Phillip is still in love with Chloe. He just pushed her away because he thought it was best for Parker. If Phillip cares for Melanie at all he should know she deserves better than being more than a replacement or someone to numb his pain.
Btw, are we supposed to be thinking Chloe is on Salem doing the crazy things she did on the show or is she acting differently in this story? To me, that girl was not the Chloe we know.

At this point, I just want Philip to be happy. If that's with Chloe, fine. If it's with Melanie, fine. Just no more crying, ok? Sad Philip is too much.  |

Well as someone who always felt that Philip's feelings for Melanie were stronger than his feelings for Chloe (going by what the show said) I always find myself wondering if a Phloe reunion post Parker fallout would be because he lost Melanie and less about truly wanting to be with Chloe forever. BUT this is Kpatch land so...I don't need a crystal ball to figure out where this will go.  |

Oh and wanted to add love how you write Melanie Kpatch. You capture her spirit and personality so well. I love the adorable things she says...like when she was talking about forgetting how cute Philip was. She is the ultimate Philip fangirl - love that about her. LOL |

Good question wendylou. Yes, Chloe has been in Salem just as we saw her earlier this year on air. The things she did on air are supposed to have happened in my story too. The purpose of Destiny's Child is to find out what was going on with Philip after learning Parker was Daniel's son, and afterwards while Chloe was in Salem trying to win Daniel back. I really like Melanie and Philip I liked them when they were together too but got so annoyed and ticked off with Melanie when she started fantasizing about Nathan while she was in bed with Philip! I couldn't believe she could ever want old moldy hot dogs when she's in bed with steak, lobster dipped in white chocolate! But if they hook up in this story I would enjoy it. I think Melanie is the only one that can comfort Philip and I can't wait til she reveals what Chloe has been up to!

Chapter 14, Part 1
“It’s still there, isn’t it?” Melanie said. “This thing between us.”
Philip got up off the couch and began to walk around the room, rubbing the back of his neck, struggling to find the right words to say. Melanie watched him intently, expectantly. Finally Philip turned his attention back to her.
“I don’t know, Melanie. I mean, I want to say yes, there is. It would be so easy to just scoop you up in my arms ....”
“Then do it.”
“... and I’d give anything if we could turn back the clock three years ... but ... I can’t.”
Melanie got up and walked over to Philip. She fingered the placket of his button-down shirt. “I know we can’t go back, Philip. So let’s go forward instead.” She pulled him closer until their lips connected.
But they parted a split second later. “No, Melanie. I can’t. I wish I could. You have no idea how much I wish it. But ... I’m sorry, Melanie. I just ... can’t.”
“Why not?” Tears began to spill down Melanie’s cheeks. “I still have feelings for you, Philip. I managed to push them aside for a while, but they’ve always been there. And I don’t want to pretend they don’t exist anymore, Philip. I want to admit it now. I still love you.” She reached for Philip’s hand and searched his eyes. “And I will never believe you don’t still love me.”
Philip cupped Melanie’s chin and he looked into her eyes. “Sweet Melanie. I don’t think you had any clue how much I loved you.”
“Well, you told me often often enough, so I think I sorta knew.”
“Words didn’t even get near it,” Philip said earnestly.
“And now?”
“Now? Do you know how much I wish I could tell you I love you too? ... It would ... it would make all the difference in the world. It would give me purpose again. But ... and I can’t believe I’m saying this.” He walked away from her and stared out the terrace door. “I’m sorry Melanie. I don’t have anything left to give. ... It’s not you. It’s not you at all. It’s me. I don’t feel anything. I don’t feel anything for anybody anymore. All I feel is numb.”
“Philip ....”
“Don’t feel sorry for me," he said, turning his head toward her. "Honestly, I don’t mind it. Frankly, being numb is way better than feeling like crap, the way I’ve felt for the past month.”
Melanie walked over to him and held his arm. “But you’re not always going to feel this way, Philip. Maybe ....”
Loud noises coming from outside disrupted the conversation. Firecrackers, noisemakers, revelers. Philip glanced at the wall clock.
“Midnight,” he said. “2013.”
“Happy new year, Philip.” Melanie stood on her tiptoes to kiss Philip.
