I know the actress who plays her is only maybe 2 to 3 years old, but couldn't they find a better emoter? Look at Johnny (if you can find him these days). The twins who play Johnny were born actors.
This kid showed no emotion when Nicole came into the pub on Tuesday's show. She didn't even show emotion for the ice cream she was eating. In fact, the ice cream had more emotion than she had.

Hopefully at some point TPTB will find a new Sydney. She usually seems to have a blank sort of look on her face. Sometimes TPTB actually find a great kid actor like the boys who play Johnny. Other times I don't know why they stick with them so long. They don't have to age her just get a new set of twins around the same age.

Sydney has always been that way... Basically she told Nicole she loves ice cream more than her.... ;D
Maybe Sydney needs psychological help like Ciara.

As soon as her little face popped up on screen, I realized I was hoping shed been SORAS'd a little bit, or even just recast. I was so disappointed to see her back. I feel terrible that I feel that way about a child, but that kid has got to go. Is it too much to ask for a little girl that can smile?!?

Maybe they should try and get the Sinnema twins back to play the role of Sydney. They are the ones that played her as a baby. They were awesome little actresses. They had such great chemistry with Nicole and they always seemed sad when EJ was holding them which I thought was funny.
These girls playing the part now are just not good at all. I know they're young but they never smile or engage another character, much less talk. I wonder if the show has gotten any formal complaints about this. I know what you mean, DD, it's hard to be critical of a child but they need to find someone else.

Sparkster, I soooo agree with you. The other twins that played Sydney were so cute!!! They at least showed some emotion. The twins playing her now are cute as a bug in a rug, but she doesn't show any signs of happiness...or anything. I don't even think I've seen her cry yet. Weird for a toddler! The first set that played her seemed to just light up when they saw Nicole/Arianne. I'm not much for SORA's...but in this case I think they need to age Sydney a little bit... Doesn't it seem like she's been a baby/toddler forever??

Sydney had her first speaking part on Friday, 5/6. Did you notice that most of her speaking was off camera and what she said on camera was hard to understand? Makes me think she cannot speak well and TPTB didn't know that when they hired her.

I hate to speak of a child this way as well, but I agree with all of you who said these twin girls have got to go.I loved baby Sydney.I know alot of people aren't fond of Daniel, and frankly I'm one of them, but he had a scene with baby Sydney about a year or so ago,he was talking to her about all the good things she deserved, and said something like,"Is that too much to ask for such a beautiful little girl like you?",and I swear, the second he said "Beautiful"that kid cheezed up the biggest grin at him I've ever seen! Now THAT's the way it should be!

I liked the first Sydney also so I have two thoughts on the matter. First, it serves TPTB right that the recast isn't working out for them. Second, Sydney has no reason to emote because she has no reason to feel connected to anyone or anything after the life she's lived. Why should she light up when Nicole enters the room like she did when she was young; Nicole can just be taken away from her again at any moment.
