I had to look up what Scarpetta was...LOL
50 Shades...if anyone wants the trilogy for their ereader I have them - glad to share the files. I could only make it to chapter 7 in book one...I hate Bella, I wanted to beat her up by the end of Twilight - and Anna is Bella through and through.

Kiss the Girls is my all time favorite James Patterson novel - probably my favorite crime novel. Have you ever read anything by Maeve Binchy?

This one looks good by Maeve Binchy
Minding Frankie - When Noel learns that his terminally ill former flame is pregnant with his child, he reluctantly agrees to take care of the baby girl. Along with the help of a caring network of friends, family and neighbors—including Lisa, his broken-hearted classmate, and Emily, his American cousin—Noel adapts to his new responsibilities But when a nosy social worker decides to get involved, she threatens to ruin their unconventional but special arrangement. It will be up to Noel to persuade her that everyone in the neighborhood has something to offer when it comes to minding Frankie.
I love how she writes about an ensemble of characters.

So glad someone created this thread. I'm reading Oblivion by David Foster Wallace and Quiet (can't remember author). I'm mostly reading the first one but I ordered the second from Amazon and couldn't wait to peek at it.
Slyn, I think I've read every book Maeve Bincy ever wrote. I love her. She has such a way of making the reader feel like they are a part of whatever small Irish town she is writing about. I have to say, Minding Frankie was not one of my favorites, but you might like it. I read most of her books a long time ago. I did like Circle of Friends and another one I really liked was called The Glass Lake (I think), oh, I think another good one was Firefly Summer. I'm so sad she's gone.
I'd love to know what everyone's favorites are too - books and authors. Some of mine are The Education of Little Tree, Catcher in the Rye and A Tale of Two Cities. I have to say, one of the best books I've read lately is a young adult book called The Fault in Our Stars. It is kind of sad but I highly recommend it. I like DFW and James Lee Burke, also Elizabeth George.
