Nicole keeps insisting to Taylor that EJ is a terrible person and can't be trusted. "Taylor doesn't believe her," asserts Tamara Braun. "As much as Taylor loves her sister, Nicole's intentions haven't always been pure. But more than that, Taylor sees something in EJ that she thinks no one can see. She experiences him in a different way."

Taylor meets with EJ and agrees that he's right about wanting a divorce from Nicole. "Taylor wants to do the right thing," notes Braun. "But EJ has told her that the marriage was out of convenience and a business deal. EJ has also convinced Taylor that they can be together, and Nicole can be with Brady, whom she really loves, and everything will work out for the best."

Meanwhile, Nicole spends time with Sydney and realizes that she can't lose her again. When Nicole returns home, EJ drops the bombshells: He wants a divorce.

A crafty Nicole doesn't let on that she knows about EJ and Taylor's involvement. However, she does engage in personal warfare with EJ and launches her own powerful strike: She knows EJ kept Rafe prisoner in the basement! Nicole shows EJ the DNA evidence, and blackmails him into staying married to her. Later, Nicole reveals that she and EJ are leaving on their honeymoon. "It's devastating to Taylor," sighs Braun,

Here we go again... Nicole, do you remember the last time you tried to blackmail EJ? How'd that work out for you? She just never learn... You cant lose Sydney? If you must blackmail, then blackmail that EJ must put a provision in the divorce that you will always have visitation rights. Why do you want to hang on to this creep? Let Taylor & EJ go and be together miserably as that is what will happen.
