Is anyone watching the new season of Survivor? It's fans vs favorites. The term favorites is being used pretty loosely IMO. I didn't even remember some of the so-called favorites.

I always watch Survivor. Yeah, "favorites" is a very loose term. But most of my favorites have already played several times already. It's funny to see the so-called "fans" who claim to love or watch the show make the same silly mistakes (like Shemar being lazy around camp, supposedly to "save himself" for the challenges or the couples-alliance that was an instant target).

I always watch too. I agree that they make the same mistakes. My favorites have played multiple times too. It drives me nuts when strong players are voted out so they can keep people who don't do anything.

I am semi watching. If I happen to see it great. If not, oh well.

Anyone watch last night's Brandon meltdown? I had to pause it several times just so I could decompress and brace myself for whatever he was going to do next. It was so uncomfortable to watch, and I didn't realize it until later but he truly went through bipolar-like mood swings. It's clear that there are issues there that are not Survivor-related.

I saw some of that. Don't they give contestants mental and physical exams before letting them on the show? I watch off and on. Anyway, he seemed like anactual danger to other people on the show and I thought they gave him way too much airtime. Makes me wonder if they wanted something like this to happen for ratings. I am not a fan of Brandon or his uncle.

They do to an extent, but the meltdowns make for ratings.
I honestly gave up on it already. I haven't watched the last two weeks. I just can't get into it.

I do think they wanted this for ratings and that's sad. I've been on the receiving end of a manic-depressive tirade and watching Brandon really brought back some bad memories because I could see it mirroring my situation somewhat (at least the way they edited it) that Brandon set himself up to be the hero in the reward challenge and he didn't last as long as Philip did. So Brandon's own feelings of failure led to him lashing out at Philip, the one who won instead of him plus the one who he already had trust issues with.
And if it was somehow staged or planned, then I'm really upset because that was just too much emotion to dredge up for me as a viewer.

Brandon definitely has issues that are deeper than Survivor. He needs some help. The Hantz family doesn't need any more TV time. I'm glad Jeff didn't let him return to the camp.
