The writers finally grew a brain and figured out women are not doormats (even if just for a few lines).....A woman in Salem (and most of tv anymore) finally reacted properly to being called a bitch.....When Nick called Sami one she slapped him...!!!! It's about time people....why do woman not take offense of this word...?? I am sooo glad Sami slapped the person who called her the name....and then Nick apologized and said he shouldn't have called her the name.....I love love love this little glimmer of dignity.....

I agree and the fact that it was Nick, well, that's even better.

I think I dislike slapping more than I dislike the use of the word bitch. To me, it's so stereotypical. I would rather Sami (or any woman) defend herself with words rather than resorting to slapping.

I haven't seen the scene yet but I think Sami just wanted to let Nick have it and found an excuse...

There are times you just have to get somebody's attention so they know what they said was wrong, and wrong on so many different levels...and this was one of them....

Words, especially those demeaning to women, are flung around like they are okay on a regular basis. I'm glad Sami slapped Nick. I'm glad he apologized. It's still all words if the general behaviors don't really change, nor do the stereotypes and expectations. Even worse, Abby and so many of the other women on the show calling one another bitches and sluts. Disgusting. In these sorts of dialogues, both women are demeaned.
