I know a bunch of us had questions about this when we first converted -- how do you get to the last post you read instead of the first post in a thread. I did not realize that there was actually a method for this, but in Version 5, apparently there is. I found this information on the Proboards Support site. Hopefully it helps.
From Threads: Clicking anywhere in the Subject column of a thread will take you to the beginning of a thread.
Clicking on the "new" icon (if present) next to the thread title will take you to the post that follows the last post you've read in that thread, e.g., the first post you have not read yet.
From Boards: Clicking in the Board column from the home page will take you to the list of threads.
Clicking the name of the Last Post in the Last Post column will take you into that thread.

Kpatch I have been doing the clicking on the new button. Less then half the time it works the rest of the time I get sent to the first post. I then skim through to find where I was.

You have to hit the New button just right, otherwise it will take you to the first post of the thread, not the first new post.
