On the board, but I was just thinking about something.
It's know that Quinn comes to town, apparently he is a pimp and that he has a connection to vivian. What if he turns out to be Nicolas?

GG, I am so confused about this Quinn/Nicholas stuff. Personally I don't see how Quinn could be Nicholas simply due to the fact that the casting call was for an actor between the ages of 35-40 years old if I recall correctly. If that is true then the actor playing Quinn is simply too old to be playing Carly's son. Crystal Chappell was born 8/4/65 which would make her 45 years old. The actor who would portray Nicholas would have to be at least 25 years old. Needless to say, color me confused.

Tabby - I don't think actors' ages matter because you will make yourself crazy if you try to make sense of it. Wasn't Chappel's first stint on Days in the early 90s? Nicholas was about 8 years old. Then a short while later he was SORAS'd to 20-something and had a fling with Kate.
By the same token, characters' birth dates don't matter. I think EJ was born in 1996 and he's supposed to be 30ish. Philip was born in 1995 which would make him 16 today. But he was supposed to be 16 in 1999.
I think that if Quinn is Australian, he will have something to do with the missing-in-action Jack Deveraux. Even if his story starts out with Vivian and Chloe, somewhere along the line I speculate he will reveal some information about Jack to Jennifer and Daniel.

I don't think they have any intention of bringing back Nicholas....At least in the near future. The writers are seeming to prefer bringing characters back with either made up histories (ie: Dario, Nathan) or brand new ones such as Quinn... Wouldn't it be great to bring back maybe LUCAS or Eric or a son of Adrienne & Justin?

Hmm. I hadn't thought of Quinn being "related" to Jack (story-wise). That would be interesting! And it makes sense. Ahh, but there we go again. Trying to make things make sense. We should really know better by now. ;p

Sportsgirl, just a heads up, Nathan wasn't made up. When Tom Horton died in the early 90s, Melissa was indeed pregnant at the time, no doubt, with Nathan at the time of his memorial service.

I like the idea of Quinn knowing some information about Jack. That would be really cool and would bring more characters into the story. I definitely don't think Quinn is Nicholas though. I believe the actor playing the part of Quinn is actually an Aussie so it just wouldn't be believable that Nicholas has an Australian accent. Plus, wouldn't Carly recognize him?
I'm still trying to figure out how this guy is involved with Vivian. Why would Vivian have any use for messing with Chloe again? She seems to be too involved in the Stefano/Rafe storyline to care about setting up Chloe with a pimp or whatever. I just don't get that angle.

Characters that leave have dropped off the face of the planet, as far as the writers are concerned. Children can come out of nowhere, and paternity is flexible. I agree that Nathan was "created" to be a current Horton, but the execution was terribly flawed. Children of core families shouldn't drop out of the sky. Cast whomever you want, but at least go back 20 years or so to see who was pregnant and who could viably be the parents. If Melissa WAS pregnant at the funeral in the early 90s, it's believable that she was pregnant with Nathan. But she left and was never heard from again. FF 20 years and Nathan arrived. |

Regarding Melissa, you'd think that Maggie, Jennifer or Hope could have mentioned something in a conversation about Melissa having a baby. It would make sense for the core families to talk about their loved ones occassionally. But as DD pointed out, TPTB want you to forget a character ever existed once they leave.
