Do you prefer a Nook or a Kindle? Which model?

I haven't used a Nook so I really can't differentiate between the 2 for you.

I don't have either one but I have heard the Kindle was better when I was on jury duty.

I love my ipad. It has an ibooks app and you can download the kindle reader app too. I know that wasn't one of the options, but I just thought I'd interject.

I have the kindle fire, and I love it.
My SIL has the Nook, and she loves it.
I don't think you could go wrong.
With the kindle fire, you have internet capabilities, and if you get the prime membership you can watch free movies/tv shows, and borrow a book a month from their select list.

We can't get the nook here, but I know people that have used it. Most of my family have a Kindle. I like Kpatch have an IPAD. I have both the Kindle and Kobo apps. Both work great. Before the IPAD I had a Sony E reader. I love the Kindle E library So many books and all free.

I'm a Amazon/Kindle person like I'm an Android person. Not because Nook or Apple/iPad are bad or that I've even used them, just that I'm comfortable with what I know. I had already used the Kindle app on my desktop before getting the tablet, so I knew what to expect on their pricing and selection.
I mentioned in the weekly thread about the library loans, and that's a HUGE deal for Amazon to finally allow libraries to loan books in Kindle format because they wouldn't allow it for so long. I've read all of the James Patterson Women's Murder Club series and almost through Tess Gerritsen's Rizzoli and Isles series, all from library ebooks. Yeah, there are waiting lists for the popular stuff, but there are guaranteed return dates for ebooks, so you don't end up waiting for months because someone doesn't return it.

There's also the Microsoft Surface tablet which I believe is pretty close to a laptop. It looks like it has some cool features. Of course it's on the high-priced side since it's brand new.

I voted neither because I don't have any of that kind of stuff, I can't afford any of it, plus I don't need it or really want it anyways.

Ipads and most tablets are a lot more expensive than kindles or nooks. They aren't in my budget. If I can't afford it with the Christmas money I received then I can't buy it.
