Chapter 2
SALEM PLACE
Will was talking on his cell phone.
WILL: What? Are you serious?
Pause.
WILL: That's horrible!
Pause.
WILL: What do you mean?
Pause.
WILL: Of course I don't know where it went. How would I...?
Pause.
WILL: Are you accusing me of stealing that money?
Pause.
WILL: But, I would never do that! Why would I steal money from you? I work for you.
Pause.
WILL: Whatever.
Will hung up. At that moment, Will got another phone call.
WILL: Hello?
SAMI (VO, over phone): Will, I need your help!
WILL: Oh, hi mom. What's up?
SAMI (VO, over phone): It's Sydney. She's sick. Your father and I don't have enough money to pay for her medicine.
WILL: I don't have any money, either. E.J. hasn't paid me yet.
SAMI (VO, over phone): He hasn't paid you?
WILL: Not yet. Look, I'll go talk to him and see if I can get an advance on my salary. I'll call you back.
Will hung up.
HEAVEN
SUPERINDENT: So, Will Horton went to the DiMera Mansion. E.J. was waiting for him when he arrived.
ASC: We're getting close now, aren't we, sir?
SUPERINDENT: Close. But, we're not quite there yet.
DIMERA MANSION
E.J.: So, first you steal from me. And then, you have the gall to come over here and ask me for money?
WILL: I've been trying to tell you, I didn't steal anything!
E.J.: And, what if I do believe you? What would I get out of this? I've already lost a lot of money because of you. What collatoral would I have?
WILL: I don't know, I'd...I'll work extra shifts for you. Even though I didn't steal the money, I'll work extra hours until I have enough to give back the money we lost.
E.J.: Well, I'm not so sure. We'll see. But, first, I have a phone call to make.
E.J. got out his phone, dialed a number, and made sure it was on speaker.
STEFANO (VO, over phone): Yes?
E.J.: Father. It is I.
STEFANO (VO, over phone): Elvis, my boy. What can I do for you?
E.J.: I have found out who stole all of our money. William Horton.
STEFANO (VO, over phone): Why would William steal from us after we have been so good to him? Oh, he will regret the day he ever crossed the DiMeras!
E.J.: It gets even better, father. He has just come in asking for an advance in his salary.
STEFANO (VO, over phone): The nerve of that boy! I always knew that hiring the child of Samantha Brady would be trouble! Cut him from our ties, Elvis. The way I see it, William Horton is worth more to us dead than he is alive.
E.J.: Thank you, father.
E.J. hung up the phone.
WILL: You had this planned from the beginning. You were never gonna tell him the true story. You haven't even give me the benefit of the doub. But, what should I have expected? You're a Dimera. You're nothing but a warped, frustrated old man! You and your father!
E.J.: How dare you? I told him the entire story as far as we both know it. You call me a warped, frustrated old man? Well, what are you but a warped, frustrated young man, stealing my money, the money I have slaved away to make, and then coming here and begging for more? Father was right, you're worth more dead to us than you are alive. Now, get out of my sight! You're fired!
HEAVEN
SUPERINTENDENT: We've only got a few hours left until Will Horton goes to the Pier and is ready to take his life. But, before that happens, there's just one or two other events that take place.
