Authors: Where do you draw your inspiration for your Days fanfics?
I find I sometimes am inspired by things that have nothing to do with the show and give me ideas for placing Days characters into off-canvas situations and settings. Most times, I write as a way to right what I consider a wrong on the show. But not always. For example, I wrote a story called Cruise of Infection which was a comedy, but was inspired by a vacation I took. So I was wondering if I'm alone in that form of inspiration.

Well most of my fanfics are from other fandoms, I have only done a handful for DOOL, but usually my inspiration comes from the characters. I wonder what such and such character would do in a given situation and I go from there.
I also get inspired by the show. Like I might see a moment on the show and it gets my wheels spinning. Such as this one look that Stephanie gave Philip when she was in his wedding, like she was filled with regret and wanted to cry, that made me think about a story idea...just that one look.
In my stories from other fandoms, I tend to just expand on a story that aired, give it more depth, dissect it and try to show the HOWS and WHYS.

I really loved that scene between Stephanie and Philip. I agree about the regret in her eyes. I think she realized a lot of the mistakes she made in her relationship with Philip and regretted just letting him walk away. I think that is why she went a total 180 in her relationship with Nathan. she didn't want to lose someone she loved again because of her pride or morals/judgement.
