Why am I sighing with relief that this season is over? That seems wrong somehow. **SIGH** Let's get this over with. Kelly and Val (PASO DOBLE – repeat dance) – Oops. A missed connection, but they persevered. It's not about the screw up, it's about what you do after. The turn sequence in the middle was WONDERFUL! Her spotting during the turns was just spectacular. You know what? I don't even care about the missed connection. I loved it! MY SCORE: 10 JUDGES SCORE: 9.5, 10, 10 = 29.5Melissa and Tony (SAMBA – repeat dance) – I know you're all tired of hearing/reading the same comments about Melissa every week, so I'll keep it short. Blah blah blah. No technique. Blah blah blah. Looks the same as before. Blah blah blah. MY SCORE: 8.5 JUDGES SCORE: 10, 10, 10 = 30 Shawn and Derek (QUICKSTEP – repeat dance) – Last time, the judges pooped on this routine. “Not enough Quickstep.” “You're not respecting the rules.” Blah blah blah. I don't care. I think this routine is fantastic. It's fun. It's high energy. It's inventive. Would you ever dance it at a REAL ballroom competition as anything other than a show piece? Of course not! But then again, this certainly ISN'T a real ballroom competition. So just let it go, ok Len, Carrie Ann and Bruno? Geez. MY SCORE: 10 JUDGES SCORE: 9, 8.5, 9.5 = 27Kelly and Val (FREESTYLE) – It's Dirty Dancing!!! What a GREAT way to do a Freestyle. It soooo fits Kelly's experience and I just thought it was lovely. She has improved SO MUCH!!! Everything looked great and I couldn't be happier for her. MY SCORE: 10 JUDGES SCORE: 10, 9.5, 10 = 29.5 = 59/60Melissa and Tony (FREESTYLE) – Tony wants to do contemporary? Melissa says they haven't seen that in the finals before? Um, I seem to recall a VERY beautiful contemporary with Maks and Erin, so step off Melissa. You ain't THAT original girlfriend. **SNAP** I am so spoiled by So You Think You Can Dance, because, I'm sorry, but this was a C-R-A-P contemporary. She looked very balletic and graceful, but it lacked the feeling that drives contemporary. Just lift after lift. Blah blah blah. MY SCORE: 8 JUDGES SCORE: 10, 10, 10 = 30 = 60/60Shawn and Derek (FREESTYLE) – I'm going to let MrsM's tweet from last night sum it up: “Are we watching #DWTS or a gymnastics floor exercise?” I swear when they did that one big stunt at the end, my heart actually stopped. MY SCORE: 10 JUDGES SCORE: 10, 10, 10 = 30 = 57/60My Leader Board.........................Judges Leader BoardKelly.......20.........................................Melissa........60 Shawn.....20.........................................Kelly............59 Melissa....16.5.....................................Shawn..........57 Tune in tomorrow to find out who is the All-Star DWTS Champion!

I was talking with one of the dance moms tonight at class and she just loves Melissa. I told her about DD and how you have taught us what to look for and she looked a little shell shocked. Lol. Melissa and Tony did nothing that really impressed me tonight. It was really lackluster for me. Their contemporary looked like they tried to rip of Val and Kelly and failed. Didn't Val and Kelly use that 3 tier step for theirs as well?
I liked Kelly and Val tonight. I thought they did a nice job. Their freestyle was good, just not great. Hard routine to do though because everyone (me especially) compares it to the original.
I like Shawn and Derek's quickstep. It is a lot of fun. The judges said it was a combination of their routines but it was more a combination of dancing and gymnastics. It was a lot of fun though. I enjoyed it.

I love being able to educate people! Thanks MrsM!!!! I told my mother the same thing (about Melissa). She, too, thought she was just so wonderful. I set her straight.

Oh, and you will get a kick out of this DD. I gave the mom from dance class the link to the Tristanology site because she adores him as much as we do and she messaged me today letting me know she has accomplished nothing because she can't tear herself away from it

Kelly and Val. The Paso was fabulous. I like they went with a dance like that instead of a super flashy, audience-based dance. The Paso does showcase how far she has come since the beginning. The freestyle...eh. She ain't Baby and Val sure isn't Johnny. I did giggle when Len said that bit about lacking originality. But for the storyline between Kelly and Val, and what the show has represented for her, the dance was perfect.
Melissa and Tony. Dang, he's more excited than she is about being in the finals. Their samba didn't wow me in any real way, other than being an upbeat dance that was picked for that reason. Their contemporary, yes we get it...Melissa has long limbs, had ballet, and can make pretty shapes. There was no "passion" in the dance, definitely not like Kelly and Val's contemporary. And DD, I thought the same thing about Erin and Maks' contemporary piece in the finals.
Shawn and Derek. Rule-breaking is bad. I feel like the judges wanted to make them write that 100 times on the blackboard or something. It was definitely picked for high energy, gymnastic elements, and crowd pleasing. Their freestyle freakin' blew me away. Period.

3rd: Kelly and Val
2nd: Shawn and Derek
1st: Melissa and Tony
I'm going to tell myself this is a win for TONY, not necessarily a win for Melissa. Either way, Shawn was the best ballroom dancer, Kelly was the most improved, but Tony was the feel-good favorite. Melissa was exactly the same dancer at the end that she was on her very first day. Blah. #ThumbsDown

The only good thing about it was Tony's reaction. Man, was he happy!

Happy for Tony could give two craps about Melissa. Don't like her. I called it though. I said if she made the finals she would win because she was the only one that hadn't won yet.

It was weird reading all the tweets and stuff before the show started. Everyone almost made it sound like this was the LAST season. Very strange. At least that was the impression that I got.
