Why did characters like Bo and Philip and Chloe and Nathan get to exit the show gracefully, while Jack always gets killed off?

Where's Waldo Stephanie? I can understand a short term player disappearing, but not a major character like Stephanie. You'd think Kayla would mention her once in a while.

Where is Joey? Does it really cost that much to hire a kid to appear once or twice a year to play him? I've heard rumors that Joey will be making an appearance soon. I don't know exactly when, but Christmas would be a logical guess. My questions: What happened between Shane and Kim? In June 2010, Shane quit the ISA and went with Kim to Los Angeles so they could try to make their relationship work. Then, in May 2012, Shane reappeared in Salem, back with the ISA, and nobody asked about or mentioned Kim. And, most recently, in October 2012, the Bradys mentioned that Kim is opening a clinic in San Diego, but never said anything about whether she and Shane are together. The writers could have thrown fans a bone during one of those exchanges. Does Caroline have no grandchildren capable of helping care for her? I get Carrie is pregnant and Sami is too self-centered, but that still leaves Eric, Andrew, Jeannie, Shawn-Douglas, Stephanie, Chelsea, Rex, and Cassie. (Sub-questions: What happened to Andrew and Jeannie? Are we supposed to pretend Rex and Cassie never existed?) How did Stefano survive the brain tumor that was killing him in 1984-85? That's why he wanted the three prisms. (And why didn't they mention that during Lexie's illness?) What state is Salem in? It seems most likely to be in Illinois, but in the mid-80s, there were a number of things that made Ohio seem plausible. How does Salem International always seem to have regular non-stop flights to and from Africa, Europe, South America, etc. For that matter, how the hell does what people constantly call a "small town" have an "international" airport? |

Why in times of great stress the women always remember to put on jewelry?
No one ever uses the bathroom?

How does any work ever get done in Salem? They are always at the HTS, or at the dock or pier, or meeting at Benchie- never in an office.......
