As I sat watching the show, I was struck by how the veterans, such as (and I'll use character names to clarify better)Bo, Hope, Stefano, Kate, Roman, Victor, Maggie etc. all continue to give excellent performances in spite of having had pay cuts, threats of firing, have had to deal with budget cut restraints in filming etc. and who knows what else that would be extremely stressful and disheartening, and then the biggest insult to them comes in the hiring of such bad bad actors to come in and take screen time and salary and give such piss poor performances that it is laughable.....but they continue to give it their all....they take the scripts and the limited preparation and the smaller pay checks and rock their scenes, time after time......WHY in the hell are these wonderful actors, along with the viewers, being insulted by the addition of characters and actors such as Taylor and Dario.... ? I wouldn't blame them one bit if they phoned in their parts, but they don't, they work their butts off.....and I imagine will continue to do so......

Agreed. At this point I would consider Nicole a veteran character and her scenes today dealing with the death of her mother were outstanding!

I know....Nicole was sooooo very believable today....I felt her pain and sorrow.....too bad Taylor had to be on the same set and muck things up... And EJ seemed genuinely upset.....I think Mr. Scott does his best acting when he's in a scene with Nicole and Stefano.....

I agree, I love Nicole.
The veterans are why I watch the show.
I know it takes time to build a character, and as much as I like some of the newer talent (like Chad and possibly Abby), I can't stand some of the story lines and the how some of the better actors get a back seat or whose characters get assassinated for the likes of Mel, Dario, etc.

I was really impressed by Arianne Zuker today! She went ugly over Fay's death, and it worked. And actually, Natalia Livingston didn't stink things up QUITE as badly as I expected, so all things considered...

Totally agree Mikey! I'm loving Nicole more and more. Ari is knocking it out of the park in every way. Natalia was even a little better. I think THAT surprised me most.

I didn't like Nicole that much her first time around, but ever since she came back, I'm totally a fan. And even though she gets used a lot and is front and center often, it never feels like she's overexposed. It often feels like Sami and Carly and Melanie need a rest, but for some strange reason, I never feel that way about Nicole.

For me, I like seeing Ari as much as possible because she seems like somebody I'd like to go have a beer with. And Nicole stays a fighter. She might have her dumb moments, but ultimately she fights like hell and I like that.

Yeah, I love how she's shown a really good range of "something's not right", to the grief process (including anger, guilt, sadness, etc.). And, she can just turn on the new emotion so quickly (as soon as someone leaves the room, she's got the look).
I love her as an actress, and agree, I always want to see more of Nicole (when she's not fawning hopelessly over EJ).

Except, her mother just died and her hair is perfectly coiffed. I know when my mother-in-law passed, it was all I could do to take a shower and run a comb through my hair. (nothing against Ari, that would be TPTB)
