After several weeks of building a platonic friendship, Jennifer and Daniel are forced to face their attraction, but are they ready to act on it?
"They've found a common denominator," explains Shawn Christian. "They're both trying to move on from a past relationship. The discussions that they have are appealing to both of them, because they have someone to talk about what they're going through -- and that other person understands."
Now that Jennifer is working at the hospital, they're seeing more of each other. They're also aligned in helping their pal Carly through a difficult time. There's a physical proximity," points out Christian.
When the two finally realize they're attracted to each other, they quickly dismiss it as a rebound attraction. Privately, each resolves to stay away from the other. They quickly find that it's impossible, because they're now so tangled in one another's lives.
"Daniel's not on solid ground," offers Christian. "They're also both trying to move on as independent people. So it's a very clumsy interlude that these two share!"

What about friends with benefits? Poor Jenn could use some action. Daniel could use a cold shower, but I'm more inclined to go with whatever Jenn needs. At least they're the same age. Get your swerve on girlfriend!!!

As much as I am enjoying the Jenn/Daniel storyline (totally against my will, mind you) I can't wait for Melanie to get involved. Why do I get the distinct impression that she and Abby are both so headstrong they will butt heads? After all Abby was good friends with Steph and Chelsea for a while.

I am surprised they never had a Stephanie/Abigail meet and greet since Abigail has been back!

Probably because Stephanie is hiding with Caroline upstairs at the pub; how the heck could she run into Abby like that? They just dumped both Caroline AND Steph after the reveal. I feel like both of them got the crappy end of that. And Kayla too. I hope the same thing doesn't happen here with Jenn and Abby, that they are just props for Daniel and Melanie and Carly...

Ha, I vote team Abigail. The girl has grown on me.
Daniel and Mel...they have a very bizarre relationship. I don't know, I've been raised by my dad, and I have a very loving relationship with him, but theirs is creepy, and very controlling/borderline obsessive towards each other.

Well considering she was man crazy and thought he was "hot" when she first came to Salem and he was chasing Chelsea withing days of being brought in to save her father, it does kind of up the creepy factor in their oh so physical relationship.

I agree...
They're just too into each other's love lives and too obsessed with each other's significant others. I get being involved but they're just too much.

Which is why I am going to enjoy it when Melanie and Abby start butting heads. I just hope they don't take Abby down the same road as Stephnie because they love Mel more...

I didn't even think about that. Ugh, the thought of another character sacraficed for the all mighty Mel makes me nauseous.

I don't think I ever really minded the Mel/Daniel relationship all that much.I kinda just took it like Daniel's trying to make up for all the times that he wasn't there to protect mel when she was little, then as a teen going through all that garbage with Trent.I take Mel's over attachment as trying to hold onto the "good father"after having experienced the "bad father"if that makes sense. That's just my two cents though.Although I can't wait to see if Mel and Abby butt heads.

LOL well I like Melanie better...so I am all for that. Melanie has more depth than any of the current younger ladies. She is right up there with Nicole in terms of gray. And GRAY is what you need in a good soap character. Gray is what makes EJ and Philip so compelling and the lack of gray that makes Rafe a human sleeping pill. However they could do something with Abby in terms of having a globetrotting absentee dad...like they tried to do with Stephanie. Things like that impact a person and I would like to see it addressed. Oh and I don't like Daniel and Jennifer one bit. If he had to be with anyone in that circle I would go with Carly. At least Carly has layers, angst, and chemistry with him. I find Daniel and Jennifer so dull. They would make a great lighthearted chick flick on LMN though.

Having Melanie involved in this storyline is possibly the best way to make this already awful Daniel/Jennifer stuff intolerably worse. I've come to dislike Melanie almost as much as Daniel... and I already don't like this latest version of Abby. I have no doubt that Days is planning to destroy yet another legacy character for the likes of Melanie, but unfortunately writing for Abby is already bad and she doesn't even have the one saving grace that Stephanie did. At least, Shelley Hennig could act unlike this new chick playing Abby (and the one playing Melanie for that matter).
