[Kayla is blindfolded, as Steve is leading her by the hand.]
Steve: What are you laughing at, baby?
Kayla: I was just thinking what a sight I must be in this wedding dress with a blindfold on.
Steve: You’re a sight alright, baby. A sight to behold.
Kayla: Are we there yet?
Steve: You sound like little Joey.
Kayla: Okay, I smell saltwater, so I know we’re near the Seaport...
Steve: Patience, grasshopper. All will be revealed soon.
Kayla: Now, I’m hearing music.
Steve: Okay. We’re here. [He takes the blindfold off of her.]
Kayla: Steve! You didn’t! Is this the same yacht?
Steve: The very same yacht we were first married on.
[Kayla kisses Steve. They walk slowly up the boat ramp to the top deck. Looking around, Kayla sees white flowers on green vines wrapped around the railings. She turns around and sees her friends and family seated in folding chairs. The guests start to cheer and applaud.] ....

[Father Jansen walks over to where Steve and Kayla are standing.]
Father Jansen: Are you both ready?
Steve: Before we start, I’d like to thank everyone for coming today and sharing this special day with Kayla and me. It’s hard to believe that it’s been over 20 years since the first time we did this. But it was right here on this very same boat, and my Sweetness here looks just as beautiful as she did on that day.

[He takes her hands and faces her.]
I love you so much baby. When I think about the time I kept you at arm’s length and how hard it was for me to trust anyone or to let anyone get close to me...but you never gave up.

Kayla: I never gave up because I knew you were someone very special. And I knew that if I peeled away the layers, I would find my soulmate, the other half of me.

Steve: Before I met you my life was nothing. The years we were apart were a waste. But like I said before, no matter where I was and no matter what I did while we were apart, there was something pulling at me, like the moon pulls on the ocean. That something is what brought me back to you, to my home, and to my baby girl. And now we have a little boy in our family too. How did I get this lucky, a guy like me? I still ask myself that question every time I look at you. I once thought my life was going to be all bad. I had no idea that I could have love until the Big Dude upstairs gave you to me. Now I have it all. Thank you, Sweetness, for letting me back into your life.

Kayla: Letting you back in? Steve, you ARE my life. All those years you were away from me, I was only half alive. Until I laid eyes on you again two years ago, that’s when my life began again. You know how you always ask me how you got so lucky? Well, I have a secret to tell you. I’m the lucky one.

Steve: It’s been a lifelong love song, baby, with every lyric saying that we’re still number one. You and me...we’ve turned a prayer into the greatest love affair of them all. And I promise to keeping loving you and to cherish you for the rest of our lives, and beyond.

Kayla: I love you so much, Steve.

Steve: I love you, baby. [He gives her a yellow rose and they kiss.]



NICOLE’S CAR, the next morning

Chloe: Thanks for driving me to the airport.
Nicole: I can’t believe you’re leaving already.
Chloe: I’m really glad we became friends, Nicole.
Nicole: Me too. And you will come back for the wedding, right? You’re going to be my Maid of Honor.
Chloe: I’ll be there. I promise.
Nicole: Did I tell you that EJ wants to adopt a baby right away?
Chloe: Yes, I think you may have mentioned that once or twice.
Nicole: Sorry, I’m just a wee bit excited.
Chloe: I’m really happy for you, Nicole. But I can’t picture both you and Kate living in the Dimera Mansion together. All I can say is, better you than me.
Nicole: I’ll be emailing you with stories. You can count on it.
Chloe: Bye, Nicole. Take care of yourself. [Nicole and Chloe hug, then Chloe gets out of the car.]
Nicole: Stay in touch.
Chloe: I promise.

THE AIRPORT

[Chloe is waiting to board an Air France plane. She keeps checking her Blackberry when she gets a call.]

Chloe: Hi, Mom. Yeah, the plane is taking off soon. I know. I’ll miss you too. I will. I won’t. I promise. Love you too.

Tears start to flow. She looks at her Blackberry again and reads an incoming text message.]

Text Message: heard u r off 2 paris. ok if I come 2? -pk
Chloe: PK? Philip?

[Philip comes up behind Chloe, pulls the ear buds out of her ears, and sits down in the seat next to her.]
Chloe: Philip! What are you doing here?
Philip: You forgot something.
Chloe: Huh? What did I forget?
Philip [Handing Chloe a small black box]: This. Open it.
[She opens the box.]
Chloe: The Tree of Life pendant you gave me when we were dating back in high school. It brought me luck when I was going through cancer treatments.
Philip: And you gave it back to me for good luck when I left for the Marines. I promised I’d give it back to you one day.
[He takes the necklace from the box and puts it around her neck.]
Chloe: Is that your suitcase? Are you going somewhere?
Philip: I’m going to Paris to run Titan’s European operations.
Chloe: What? I thought Brady was going to run the Europe office.
Philip: We traded. He wanted to stay in Salem.
Chloe: And what did you want?
Philip: You know what I want.
Chloe: Tell me anyway.
Philip [touching her hair]: I want to be with you. [He pulls her toward him and kisses her.]
Chloe: Wait. What about your family? You were so worried about what they would think.
Philip: Oh right. The family. [He smiles.] Well ... it seems they’re all busy. Lucas is married to Sami. My mother is married to Stefano. My father is married to Caroline. And ... as for you and me ... we’ll have been married for ages by the time they even give us a second thought.
Chloe: Philip.
Philip: So, you still haven’t answered my question.
Chloe: My head is spinning. What question are you talking about?
Philip: The question in my text message. Okay if I come to Paris with you?
Chloe [smiling broadly]: You know the answer.
Philip: Tell me anyway.
Chloe: Boy, is it ever!
[She puts her arms around him and they kiss. And kiss. And kiss.]


LIVING QUARTERS ABOVE THE BRADY PUB

[Caroline is sitting at the edge of her bed looking through a photo album when Victor walks in.]
Victor: Are you all packed? Dear? Caroline?
Caroline: I’m sorry Victor, what did you say?
Victor: You seem to be a million miles away. What are you looking at?
Caroline: An old photo album.
Victor: I know you’re going to miss the family while we’re gone.
Caroline: I’ve never been away from them for this long before. Suppose Max needs me. Suppose Bo or Kayla...
Victor [sits down next to her and takes her hand]: They’ll be fine, dear. It’s time to let them be grown-ups and take care of themselves. We’ve paid our dues. It’s time to pass the baton to the next generation. And if we’ve done our jobs right -- as parents, I mean -- then our children will be a smashing success.
Caroline: A year is such a long time.
Victor: You’re not having second thoughts about our trip, are you? I’ll tell you what. Any time you feel homesick, you just let me know and we’ll fly back to Salem for a visit.
Caroline: Really?
Victor: Of course! If that’s what you want to do. My only job now is to make you happy.
Caroline: Victor, if you knew how happy you make me ... You’ve been so good to me. I never expected to feel this way at my age.
Victor: Feel what way?
Caroline: Like a school girl. Whenever you’re nearby, I can feel my heart beat a little faster.
Victor: And I never imagined that this part of my life would be the best part of my life. But it is...because I have you.

THE BRADY PUB

The scene starts with a shot of a banner hanging from the roof of the Pub that reads “Grand Reopening,” then moves down to the front door of the Pub where a sign that reads “Bon Voyage, Caroline and Victor” is taped to the outside of the door.

Inside, the camera pans all the faces: Max and Stephanie talking to Nick, Chelsea and Melanie; Caroline standing with Kayla, Steve and Joey; Victor talking to Bo, Hope, Ciara, Julie and Doug; Roman and Marlena with Sami, Lucas, Will, Mickey and Maggie; Abe, Lexie, and Theo are chatting with Brady and Abby. Other customers, including EJ and Nicole, Kate and Stefano, Tony and Anna, Rolf, Mary, and Henderson are at tables in the background.]

Bo: Can I have everyone’s attention, please? When I woke up this morning, I told Hope that I was going to make a toast, but I didn’t know what I wanted to say. She told me not to worry about it, that the right words would come to me. And while my beautiful Fancy Face is almost always right...
Hope: ALMOST always?
Bo: ...I still haven’t figured out exactly what I want to say. It’s really hard to put into words a lifetime of what Ma has meant to all of us...what this Pub has meant to the family and to Salem. By the way, the new decor looks great, Ma.
Caroline: Give the credit for the remodel to Max and Stephanie.

Bo: In a lot of ways, it feels like something is ending today ... Ma and Victor are leaving Salem and going on their trip around the world. But on the other hand, it’s also a new beginning. Max is going to be running the Pub and carrying on the traditions started by Ma and Pop. It’s a tall order, but we know you can do it, Max.
Max: Thanks, Bro!

Bo [getting choked up]: We’ve all been through a hell of a lot together. Some of it’s been rough, but most of it has been … amazing. Speaking for me and Roman, Kay and Kim, Frankie and Max, us Brady kids are grateful for everything you’ve given us, Ma, throughout all the days of our lives. We’re going to miss you … both of you. Everyone, please join me in drinking a toast to Ma and Vict... Ma and Dad. Safe journeys. Come back to us soon.

[Caroline and Victor make their way around the Pub, kissing, hugging, shaking hands, and saying their goodbyes. They walk toward the door. Victor goes out first. Caroline turns around and, with tears in her eyes, takes a last look at the Pub and everyone inside. She touches her fingers to her lips and blows her loved ones a kiss, then walks out the door. The camera zooms in on the back of the door, hanging from which is a sign that reads “Closed.”]
