I'm so excited about this! I really don't want them to change Parker's paternity, but there isn't anything to suggest that besides saying her return has a lot to do with Parker. (I know, I know, worst-case scenario is always best to assume with this show...) Since JKJ doesn't want to return, maybe they are going to have Philip "die" offscreen, and Kate gets custody of Parker, and Chloe comes back to battle with her? I don't think they will change Parker's paternity. Kills all the drama...even if Philip is not around, his parents are...and Daniel has angst about Parker NOT being his...why take that away? That removes a layer... writing is about adding layers and depth to characters.

For once, slyn, I agree with you. Nothing is gained by making Parker Daniel's.

Hmmm. Not sure how I feel about this. I like Chloe, but I will just have to wait and see what they are going to do with her.

I really can't bring myself to give a rat's ass that she's coming back.By the end of her last run,I couldn't stand both Nadia AND Chloe.Too pathetic for me.Now if they had said PHILIP was coming back, that would be a whole other story.

But, hell-ooo, they were missing Chloe so what were they expecting? Without Chloe, you could have put De Niro on Days and nothing would happen! Let's get real here! Does she really think that Chloe will be the saving grace of Days??? The show was going downhill before she left and it continued on without her. Chloe was a role - not the show. That comment just really strikes a wrong nerve with me and sounds awfully familiar. Didn't James Scott say something to that effect about EJ a while back and take a lashing for it?

Her comment rubbed me the wrong way too Mae.Sounds way egotistical to me,she's seriously gonna compare herself/Chloe with De Niro?Really?!

I took it as a joke. I choose not to think she is that pompous.

Bjorlin: I did watch a little bit, but not religiously. Hey, it's always a gamble in this business. We all want our last four soaps to remain on the air so you gotta try things. [Laughs] But, hell-ooo, they were missing Chloe so what were they expecting? Without Chloe, you could have put De Niro on Days and nothing would happen! Let's get real here!
The interview included "Laughs" to indicate she was joking.

Yeah, I read it the same way Kptach. IMO, she's clearly joking. It is incredibly difficult to convey sarcasm in print, but I'm pretty sure it was completely tongue in cheek.

It still didn't come off right to me at all.

Like DD said, without facial expressions and vocal inflections, a joke can be misconstrued, but the laugh was definitely associated with what came after the "[Laughs]" and not what came before it. Since JKJ doesn't want to return, maybe they are going to have Philip "die" offscreen, and Kate gets custody of Parker, and Chloe comes back to battle with her? There will be no killing off of Philip onscreen or offscreen. Where there's life there's hope, and I hope JKJ will come back. I'm going to guess that Chloe will return WITHOUT Parker and that her relationship with her son and her son's father will be part of the drama she returns with. In the meantime, I hope they don't demonize Philip for keeping custody of Parker or for any other reason, while he's offscreen and can't speak for himself. I'm super-excited for Chloe's return. This is the first thing I've cared about in a long time.

The "Laughs" are used so often throughout this whole thing that at times it's hard to figure out what she's really laughing at. Maybe if she had gone on to explain a little more or if there had been another question, then maybe it wouldn't have been so bad or so easily misconstrued or misquoted (if that's the case). Being the last thing that she was quoted on tho makes it a little "in your face" type noticeable.

Exactly. There's also sarcastic laughter. She could have been dead serious in her comment but laughed it off, thinking it wouldn't come off so badly.I can't pretend to know what she was thinking in saying it,but for me it just came off all wrong.Agree to disagree though

I took it as a joke as well. I have met Nadia several times and she has never come off as conceited. She has always been very gracious and humble. I'm glad that she is coming back!!

It better have been a joke...after what she admitted earlier in her interview about not knowing her character. Don't talk about great actors when you can't even infuse some "heart and soul" into a character you played for over a decade.
I'm glad she's coming back because there are many ways that she can be used, but her character is not one that gets me running to the TV. She is half done and is not a draw for me.
NOW if they do my 'broken vows' idea...I'm all in.
