At the hospital, Johnny recalls Joy giving him his wedding ring back. Alex enters the room asking if Johnny is ready for Alex to sleep with his wife. Seeing the look on Johnny's face, Alex explains he only meant that their characters were about to sleep together. Johnny understands, but can't Alex see how his wording could be triggering since Johnny made a complete idiot out of himself? Alex admits he was also an idiot. He and Stephanie made a horrible mistake.

Johnny says that Alex and Stephanie are none of his business. But Alex says Johnny and Chanel are his as they all work together and he doesn't want WWIII. Johnny agrees and apologizes. He hopes he didn't screw things up for him and Stephanie, but he's especially sorry for what he did to Chanel.

Chanel comes in and admits she's hesitant about this love scene, but if they are all professional everything will be okay. Alex is ready to get started.

Alex and Chanel perform the scene (Chanel with a horrible, supposedly Southern accent). Johnny watches them kiss on camera and remembers kissing Joy in her hotel room.

Their love scene ends. Johnny says it was steamy. Chanel looks uncomfortable. She hopes that now that they've gotten through this first love scene, they won't have any more problems. But Johnny admits he's not fine. Chanel realizes it's hard for both of them to get past this, but he can't sit around wallowing. (Johnny recalls passionately kissing Joy.)

Johnny wants to be the husband Chanel deserves. He'll make this up to her.

Joy gets to the hospital and introduces herself to Alex. He says he's heard she's going to be a huge thorn in Chanel's side. Alex then specifies that he meant her character. Joy says Stephanie warned her that she might get some hate mail. Joy notices Alex's reaction to Stephanie's name, and he admits that they were seeing each other, but now they have to keep their distance.

Joy realizes that Bonnie, her mother's best friend, is Alex's stepmother. Bonnie told her all about what happened.

Alex asks Chanel if Johnny was chill with the love scene. Chanel thinks so, but he still feels guilty. Alex tells her he met Joy and her strange reaction to his quip about her being a thorn in Chanel's side, even though it was obviously about their characters. He found it strange.

When Johnny sees Joy on set, he tells her he has to tell his wife the truth.

So, Joy and Johnny kissed. Kind of thinking they slept together but Days is withholding that nugget. Maybe they stopped at the kissing?
