Kate shows up at the cop shop and tells Jada she knows the whereabouts of a fugitive—Vivian.
Jada goes to the Salem Inn where Vivian is having a dream. She has a rude awakening when Jada tells her she’s under arrest. Vivian realizes Kate ratted her out. Jada cuffs Vivian.
Jada’s phone rings and it’s Rafe saying he’s at the station. He asks Jada to have lunch with him (to propose). She says sure, after she brings Vivian in. Rafe warns her not to turn her back on Vivian. Through the phone he hears Jada say “Vivian, what are you doing?” followed by a gunshot.

She shouldn't even be taking a call in the middle of an arrest. Read Vivian her rights instead of answering the phone. Dumdum.

As soon as she answered her phone, I knew it was going to go down wrong! Who takes a phone call in the middle of an arrest?!
