Quick recap.
Stephanie reams out Seth (her mother’s boss!) for starting this mess. Stephanie and Alex are afraid they’re going to get fired. Kate tells them they’re not fired but this is their first and last warning. Stay away from each other.

They both escaped unharmed. Banging in a medical room during a shoot no less, is pretty unprofessional so I can see Kate's point of view.

To add to above: After the mess at the party, Stephanie and Alex are talking. They never thought anyone would find out. Alex feels bad. Seth comes along and they blame him saying how he said Faith and Arrow were sleeping together. He says how was he supposed to know Stephanie wasn't Faith? Stephanie says he acts like he should know things. He says he knows the producers won't like this.
Kate comes in. She says she is not firing them but consider this their first and last warning. STay away from each other.

I don't think Kate has any right to forbid Alex and Stephanie to see each other. Even her own kids never listened when she said that. LOL.
