A girl walks into the bar and sits near Johnny. She needs a drink after traveling with her mother all day. She goes to fix her face and asks Johnny to order her a beer. She returns and takes a swig. She starts complaining about her mother and it’s clear Johnny is uninterested. She asks if Johnny is listening. He blurts “no” and reminds her that other people have problems too. She gets insulted and starts to leave, but he calls her back and they introduce themselves. Her name is Joy. He tells her welcome to Salem.
He apologizes for being in a bad mood. He tells her his wife is cheating on him. He can’t believe he said that out loud. Joy says she doesn’t know anyone he knows so who’s she going to tell. She wonders if he’s jumping to conclusions. He explains he wakled in on them. She asks if he knows the other man. He says they actually slept together before she married Johnny. She is surprised he didn’t confront his wife. Johnny claims he gave Chanel the opportunity to be truthful, but she wasn’t and she snuck out to see him the next day. Joy says his wife sounds like a stone cold bitch. Johnny responds that she’s not. He doesn’t even know who she is anymore. He feels like if he says it out loud, then it will be real and he’d give anything for it not to be.
She asks what Johnny is going to do. He appreciates her company. She advises him not to let his wife keep cheating and doing nothing about it. Johnny agrees, he needs to confront Chanel, but not tonight. He looks at her intently.

This Johnny stuff is so beyond stupid. I can't even bother to put any thought into it. Way to wreck Janel, Ron.

I think it is a bit funny Johnny is mistaken. Nice to see a new character for me at least. I don't remember Joy.
I thought Johnny was insanely rude at first. He only half made up for it later but by then he had taken over the conversation interested in talking about his so-called marriage woes. And left her "conversation" out to dry. It is called the art of listening Johnny.
Very condescending. Typical DiMera snob move. Can't be bothered listening to the young woman complain about her overbearing mother.
I for one like to see new faces and my first impression of Joy was decent. Not great but not bad either. Too bad they can't bring back her sister Chloe as well. This would be a good time albeit I wouldn't want Chloe anywhere near Brady. While we are at it ( in my own head) bring back Philip too.
For the record I like the "Small Bar."

I typically agree with you horizon but I had a different view of the encounter. I thought Joy intruded on Johnny's solitude. He wanted to be alone and she bursts in uninvited and tells him to order her a drink, which was pretty pushy in my opinion. Then she comes back and starts an endless tirade. She wasn't having a conversation with him, just talking at him. I didn't blame him for telling her off. I think he was nicer than he needed to be. He could have let her just leave, but Johnny's a nice guy and he ultimately invited her to stay and talk. His problems are bigger than hers (or so he thinks) and she was a willing ear. The chemistry between them is questionable at the moment, but I like the way they met. They didn't physically bump into each other or spill something on the other person, which is such an overused trope. I usually dislike newly introduced female characters because they tend to be over the top. But I liked how Joy was introduced and how it was connected to her mother's return. Chloe is one of my all-time favorite characters, so I am predisposed to liking her little sister. Brief Character HistoryJoy was the second child of Nancy and Craig Wesley, conceived with the hope that she could be a potential bone marrow donor for her older sister, Chloe, who had leukemia. Joy was a match and Chloe was saved.
