Fiona is pushing Sarah towards the staircase, telling her she's about to have a terrible accident, and Maggie and Xander will assume she lost control of her chair when Xander arrives and grabs Fiona's arm.
As Fiona stutters to find an answer, Sarah tells him Fiona is the one who put her in this chair and doesn't want him to find out. Sarah tells Xander that she remembers Fiona was driving. Xander (on his knees, so he's eye to eye with Sarah) asks if she's sure, and Sarah tells him that Fiona admitted it.
Xander rises, towering over Fiona, and asks her if it's true. Fiona admits she was the one who hit Sarah.
Xander is confused and upset. Victoria starts crying. Fiona tries to go check on the baby, but Xander stops her. He calmly asks Sarah to check on Victoria so he and his mother can have a moment alone. Before Fiona tells the cops what happened, she's going to tell him the whole story.
*****
Xander drags Fiona downstairs and makes her explain how she left Sarah for dead, how she dragged a drunken Brady into the driver's seat and let him take the fall for her.
Fiona says she panicked. Xander yells at her for driving drunk.
Fiona swears she did stay with Sarah and that she was going to call for help, but she knew Xander was coming. She would have never just left her.
Fiona cries and says she stopped him. Xander points out that she was still too much of a coward to tell him the truth. Fiona says she couldn't tell him.
Fiona says that when Sarah invited her to the wedding, she thought it was her second chance. She was so privileged to see Xander as an accomplished adult and get to know Sarah and Victoria.
Fiona claims that if Xander knew she was still drinking that he'd never forgive her. Xander says he understands that addiction is an illness and one she's struggled with her whole life. And she did what addicts sometimes do: she fell off the wagon. But she didn't have to drive drunk or leave Sarah in the street, or frame an innocent man. That's what he'll never forgive.
Fiona cries, telling Xander he has to understand how desperate she was after a lifetime of feeling bereft.
Fiona swears she wasn't going to actually do it. She wouldn't have done it. She was panicked. She's so ashamed of herself.
Fiona admits she should have, but she couldn't bear to lose him. Xander tells her she'll have to bear it because she has lost him for good. Forever.
Xander says this isn't anything like the rage he felt toward Brady. It's not just rage. It's shock and disgust and heartache. Shame. Never did he think he'd have to call the cops on his own mother.
Jada enters, saying he doesn't have to. She's up to speed. Jada arrests Fiona. Sarah arrives downstairs.
Fiona says she's so sorry.
Jada takes her out in handcuffs. Xander is in tears as Sarah reaches for him.

Days usually finds a way to screw up climaxes, but this was reasonably done thanks to excellent not overly dramatic acting from all three dealing with complicating emotions.
Fiona is a monster and is getting her just desserts. Goodbye worm and have a nice life in prison. A fine ending to a sordid tale.
Sorry to pounce but I have NO respect for Jada the Jackass. SHE should have been the one that figured things out. Not half dummy Eric.

I wanted Xander to smack Fiona before she got hauled away. He was ready to tear Brady limb from limb. Why not Fiona?

I wanted Xander to smack Fiona before she got hauled away. He was ready to tear Brady limb from limb. Why not Fiona? It is the utter betrayal. He had convinced himself he had the mum of his childhood back, who apparently never even existed. He was more heartbroken than enraged. These were excellent scenes. I hope Paul Telfer knows that they belong on his Emmy reel this year. You could just feel his sadness and grief that she was, in the end, everything he thought she was. I like very much that Xander admitted that he is also a felon, liar and reprobate. As long as he keeps acknowledging his awful past and his current failings, I'm good with him. He and Fiona were amazing today. I hope this is not the last we see of her. I still have so many questions, particulary about how she and Victor hooked up, and what went down with him and his brother. Speaking of, we got a Titus mention! I like that he is still "Dad" to Xander, unlike Alex who immediately relegated poor Justin to his first name. I wanted the last scene to continue. What on earth does Sarah say to Xander now? What does he say to her? They both will be sick with guilt, her for bringing Fiona into their lives, him for being her son. I look forward to them talking to Brady too.

I was afraid of how they were going to bungle this big reveal up, but they did an excellent job with it. And, Jada really SHOULD have been the one to figure it out. But, I guess it gives St. Eric a reason to be the golden savior of the family again.

I wanted to punch Fiona when she said she wouldn't have actually thrown Sarah down the stairs. In the next breath she says she was desperate, so I think yes, she would have thrown her down the stairs.

OMG! Paul, Linsey and Serena killed it! Definitely Emmy worthy. Especially Paul.... I was bawling at the end! He broke me! My heart broke for Xander. I get emotional thinking about it and this is just a show!

I think it was easy to want to break Brady’s legs because they never liked each other and are common enemies It wouldn’t take much to set him to that point This was different cuz it was his mom who he has such a complicated relationship with I think he may as well have broke her legs with the way his words cut through her She deserved that and more I love seeing the different layers of xander through this and glad Fiona was arrested
