Steve is on phone with Chad in Paris. He asks if Abby remembered anything. Chad tells him nothing concrete. He knows why Steve is calling. He's still suspicious of Abby, isn’t he?
Steve didn't want to upset Chad. They are on the same side but he still has his doubts. Chad is immediately defensive. Steve says Abby is his brother's daughter, and he is just looking out for him. Chad tells him about the imminent wedding.
Steve is not that excited about the wedding announcement. He thought this trip was just about spurring memories. Chad tells him Abby has memories of their love and wants to marry to achieve some more. Steve is silent. Chad note that he is not offering him his congratulations. Steve still has questions. Chad hangs up on him.
As Mark is talking to himself about Clyde's orders, Steve approaches him from behind, but hears nothing despite being about a foot away.
Mark asks if Steve needs anything. Steve reintroduces himself. Kayla spoke so highly of Mark so he has a favour. He wants Mark to run another test.
Mark tells Steve the first DNA test was conclusive. Steve understands this but his neice's return has been rough on the family. Mark still has the samples. Steve worries those have degraded, so he has new ones for Fabby and Thomas. Mark tells him he will run the test immediately.
Mark has the results back. Fabby and Thomas are a perfect match. Steve knew he was the guy to ask. Mark departs and Steve marvels that he and Kayla are not only husband and wife but mother and son. Mark faked the original results just like he suspected. Whoever that woman is, she is not Abigail. Mark is still on screen but far away so unlikely he is hearing this, although Steve is talking loudly and not looking to see if anybody is listening.

Slick move by Steve but is Mark that stupid. Fell right into the trap. He should have told Steve he didn't get a match and wiil have to investigate further.
For a doc he isn't very smart.

LOL I love Steve figured it out and found out he married his wife (kidding). I hope that Steve wasn't heard. Steve is always the man with the brain!

That was ingenius of Steve to use different DNA samples, since he couldn't get Kayla to rerun the test without Fake Abby's approval. He played Mark like a fiddle. Had me laughing when he said he and Kayla were mother and son. I hope Kayla won't be mad at him for this bit of subterfuge.
