Mark visits Clyde in Supermax. Clyde makes some noise about Mark being his lawyer [Ed note: probably explaining why Mark is allowed to visit him.] Clyde reminds Mark that if Mark's sister doesn't seal the deal soon, their mother will be killed.
Mark swears everything is falling into place. Clyde complains that Mark's generation does things half-assed. Why can't they just get married in Salem? What's the big deal now that Chad has the DNA test? Mark says everyone else is suspicious and his sister doesn't want to traumatize Chad's kids. Clyde thinks the sister is getting too much into her role and shouldn't care about that.
Clyde then reveals that it's not good enough for fake Abigail to marry Chad. He wants Mark to kill Chad. Mark tries to talk him out of it. Clyde says that it won't be traced back to him and since Abigail is alive, the case against him for her murder will be dismissed and he'll be free. That way he can get his hands on the money once Chad is dead. Mark doesn't want to do it. Clyde says he has blood on his hands either way. Either he kills Chad or Clyde will kill his mother.

More swell wise guy acting from Clyde. But this kill Chad bit is a downer.
Mark has one choice. Squeal. And hope like hell his mother survives. But this is Days and the characters in general are weak kneed, so I anticipate the worst.

I love James Read, but I am so very over Clyde, Master Criminal From Jail. It needs to stop. He is buried in Super Max and still running a crime empire. Also, the man is a daughter raping, woman murdering unrepentant psycho. He needs to be killed. Hopefully by Chad.
Last time he was free he was so poor he lived with Ben and had to get a job working as Roman's cook. And now he has all the means and money to keep multiple people captive on the outside. Maybe Goldman is wealthy?
