Sarah is trying to retrieve a toy from under the couch while Victoria cries loudly. Sarah gets increasingly frustrated. Fiona is in the doorway watching. Sarah’s phone starts ringing and she can’t reach it on the table. She is now in tears. Fiona rushes in to help. She gets the toy from under the couch and gives it to Victoria who makes off screen happy noises. She goes to hold Sarah’s hands.
Sarah doesn’t know what she would have done without Fiona. She told Maggie she would be fine on her own, but clearly she is not able to do this on her own. Fiona says all tired and cranky toddlers will cry and shriek, it is what they do. Victoria will toss the toy to test Sarah. Sarah cries that she thinks that she is failing the test. Fiona says she is not failing anything. She is in awe of Sarah’s courage and pluck. She thinks how Sarah carries herself is remarkable. She is so sorry. She and Brady were a tragic mistake. Sarah tells her that she and Xander are so grateful to her for her help during this time. She also thanks her for not telling anybody that she lied to the police. Fiona says that the lie saved both Brady and Xander. Sarah never would have identified Brady if she had any doubt. She wishes she could remember seeing him for real though. Victoria has gone to sleep. Sarah tells Fiona she needs time alone with her to prove she can do it by herself. Fiona goes, but outside the room she hears Sarah crying, and looks devastated.
Sarah is still wiping tears when Xander comes home. He immediately wants to know what is wrong. Sarah tells him about Victoria tossing her toy and Fiona rescuing her because she couldn’t do it. Xander is so sorry. Sarah hates it. She hates how helpless she feels, and how she couldn’t be the mother she needs to be. Xander tells her she is still the best mum ever, but Sarah tells him she does not want a pep talk. She says plenty of people with disabilities raise children, it is a fact of life now, she is disabled and there is nothing she can do about it. Xander tells her that is not necessarily true.
Sarah has been told about the Dr Rolf miracle cure. Kristen gave Xander the data for Sarah to review. Sarah asks if it is written in crayon. He tells her she can over it herself. Sarah wants to know why Kristen would ever help them? Xander notes that there is indeed one catch. Sarah says besides me injecting myself with a potion cooked up by a ponytailed madman? She apologizes for being negative. What’s the catch? She asks, putting on a cheery face. Xander says that Kristen will not give them the serum unless Sarah disavows her identification of Brady. He feels terrible because he is the reason she lied to the police in the first place. He hates to put her through all these contortions but if the serum works, wouldn’t it be worth it? To walk again? Run again? Play with Victoria again? Sarah’s looks over at Victoria. She needs to think about it. Xander says unfortunately it is a limited time offer. Brady’s hearing is tomorrow and he is pleading guilty. He can call EJ now to take her statement.
EJ is now at the KMansion. Xander tells him they want to discuss the Brady Black case. EJ is happy to talk about it. He has brilliant news; he and Brady worked out a ten year plea deal. Xander and Sarah look less than thrilled. EJ thinks that they are sad it is not longer. He tells them he didn’t want to risk a trial and a shorter sentence, but at least Brady is going to prison. Xander says, I wouldn’t be so sure about that.
EJ wants to know what Xander means. Xander says they of course want to see Brady punished, but Sarah is no longer confident about the statement she gave to the police. EJ looks at Sarah. Sarah says she is no longer sure if it was Brady driving that night. EJ says she was pretty certain when she called Jada. Sarah says she was sure then but now she has had time to think about it, the image isn’t that clear. Maybe she dreamed it. She looks up at Xander for reassurance. She says maybe she just wanted to believe it. Xander tells EJ Sarah is on a lot of pain meds and muscle relaxants and her thinking is a bit muddled. EJ says muddled thinking aside, what are they saying? Sarah is saying she wants to recant her statement. EJ shakes his head. He will not accept this.

I appreciated the skepticism of both Xander and Sarah regarding Dr. Rolf's "magic formula."
And of course, EJ gave them some rope and then pulled it away.
Sure would be nice to see little Vicky kicking around.

I'm glad to finally see some building frustration from Sarah accepting her new life. It's got to be hard for her adjusting, and she's been too "it is what it is" trying to keep it all together.
It's also nice to see Fiona actually show some agony watching Sarah struggle. It makes her a bit more human.
