Eric is questioning the waiter from the night of the accident. He shows him Brady’s picture and asks if he recognizes him. Waiter remembers Brady getting hammered and acting like a jerk, looking for a fight. It was the same night that he ran over that poor doctor. Eric asks if he saw Brady was drunk why did he let him leave alone Waiter says the lady had it under control. Eric spies a clue.
Eric shows the waiter the Spectator article about Fiona exposing Theresa at the double wedding. Eric wants to know if that was the woman with Brady that night. Waiter confirms it was. And yes, they left together. Waiter leaves. Eric closes his tablet and stares at the wall. Fiona comes in on her phone. Eric turns and sees her. End of show.

I am drawing the line. Did Brady tell Eric where he was drinking? I hope so otherwise how would Eric know to go there.
But as I and perhaps a few had suggested Eric did talk to the waiter who beefed with Brady, and he spilled the beans.
And good for Eric for playing detective.
But it seems to me his character has "magically" transformed into a Private Investigator. And it feels a bit forced.
Which begs the giant question isn't this the sort of thing JADA should be doing. This is one of the most damning inditements of the Salem PD I can think of.
To quote Elaine's publishing boss in the episode where her boss wraps up a book deal with Kramer (of all people) he turns to Elaine and says "you see this is the kind of thing you should be doing. What the hell do you do around here all day anyway."
Talk about a gargantuan ouch to go with the big laugh. That is how I feel about the Salem PD. What the hell do they do all day long. Brutal.

Jada got her confession, she doesn't care. Eric is motivated because he loves Brady but thinks he is dumb to confess to something he didn't do.
I would have enjoyed this so much more if it was John putting the clues together. Sigh, what could have been...

I would have enjoyed this so much more if it was John putting the clues together. Sigh, what could have been... It does make sense that the writing seems more fitting for John than Eric who has never shown much of an inquisitive disposition. Which takes away some of my enjoyment of seeing some real detective work in action. Besides Eric played Mr. Dunce for the longest time as Sloan deceived him with the baby switch stuff. And I understand Eric's motivation. But Jada is a downer. Incompetent bureaucratic paper pusher. Doesn't look beyond her nose. Has no "feel" when it comes to sniffing out things albeit either had Rafe of late. She has totally whiffed on everything from Connie to this Brady junk. Too busy babbling to Steph about their ex-boyfriend. Head up her you know what.

I'm glad someone has the Salem Brain. I agree with ya'll that it does seem odd that Eric is putting 2+2 together.
My hope is that he confronts Fiona and she puts him in a long term coma where he wakes up and doesn't remember his life with Nicole and doesn't want to (an Eric reset) and we don't have to deal with him pouting.

Can't help but notice the irony of it all. The rude waiter who pissed off Brady that fatal night might end up being the one that helps exonerate him.

What I want to know is if the police actually questioned this waiter and why they didn’t place Fiona in the car if and when they did question him Yet it took a temperamental tool like Eric to figure it out in one quick conversation How sad
