Paulina comes to visit, surprising Melinda since they’re not friends. Paulina relates the reason she ended up firing Melinda and hiring EJ. She explains that new info has arisen and she fired EJ. She wants to hire Melinda back. Melinda likes her job and the accompanying paycheck she gets working at Dimera and doesn’t want to give that up.

Paulina gets a call that Connie’s in custody. She asks if Melinda would like to grab lunch sometime. Melinda will treat if Paulina ensures Connie gets what she deserves. After Paulina leaves, Melinda breaks down.

Ava comes in and hands Melinda a glass of water. Ava realizes she should have known something was wrong when Melinda suddenly took a leave of absence.

Melinda jokes that Ava should have answered her phone. Ava comes back with “If it makes you feel better, she tried to slit my throat.” Melinda calls that amateur hour after what she went through.

Well that's a twist, what will Paulina do now that her only other option for DA in the entire town has turned her down?

Paulina has been quite tolerable since the strike ended. This is a good way to use her character.

I still love Melinda. What I would give for a triangle with her, EJ and Gabi. That would entertain me.

I wonder if Li is really dead though?

Although I am not for a Gabi/EJ coupling the triangle with Trask is an interesting proposal. Trask and EJ would be an interesting pairing. They would be joint sneering at everyone in town.

Refreshing that Trask didn't wolf her way back to the DA office.

I don't associate touching emotions from Trask but today she obviously had to let it out after all the horror she went thru.

And sweet moment between her and Ava, not friends in the least. Typical Melinda Trask sardonic humor on display about comparing war wounds and it made Ava smile.
