Definite NO. A bad mix. At least with Sami you had two on the same wavelength. Nicole softened EJ up but that wasn't particularly riveting.
He needs a certain personality. Funnily enough Trask would be a good match for him. Two smartasses.
That said Gabi and Stefan have no chemistry either but then again how could anyone have chemistry with Stefan.

I feel like Nicole lost her edge. Nicole used to be smart and quite the schemer. I had hoped she and EJ would have become Salem's power couple; a couple that always worked well together because they were both okay being in a moral gray area. That didn't happen. The show had to soften her to pair her with Saint Eric.
I find the idea of EJ and Trask interesting, but I've never felt any chemistry between the two characters so I'm not sure how that would work.
And back when Gabi and Stefan first got together, I thought they were fun. Somewhere along the way they lost that and I no longer care about them.

Sadly, in a fast world we live in, many writers don't write real "Romances" like the classic movies that I adore. I am old fashioned and prefer a slow buildup So that when they finally do touch hands and especially when they finally kiss...I want that build up to turn into that earthquake and those fireworks going off, like Victor did to Maggie! ROTFL!
So I am on the shelf about EJ and Gabi, depends on if the writers and actors can convince me.

I liked EJ with Nicole and feel the same way as ProudTVJunkie that she lost her edge when they dumbed her down for Eric. They could have been a power couple. I don't hate the idea of EJ and Gabi if they could actually spar and not dumb each other down. They're both sharp and driven and I think they could definitely pull off a Moonlighting type relationship. |
