John talks to Belle on the phone. He tells Marlena that Belle offered to come home to represent him, but he told her Justin is handling it. Paul also offered to come back. Marlena comments that Paul does love his brother. John says Paul wants to be there for all of them.

John says he talked to his father, and his dad is upset for all of them and wants to help. Marlena says he’s such a kind man. John appreciates the offer but feels overwhelmed with updating everyone who cares about Brady and all the phone calls. Marlena acknowledges, "It’s a lot," and says, "You’re lucky you have me to help you." John responds, "Damn lucky." Marlena reassures him, "I’m right here for you. We’re gonna get through this together."

Marlena and John kiss. John says he needed that, but he has to go talk to Brady. Marlena offers to come with him, but John says he has to do this alone.

Later, Marlena gets a knock on the door. It's Eric. Eric says he’s missed her so much. Marlena says she’s missed him and little Jude, then assumes he and Nicole are doing well. Eric confirms they are and invites her and John to come to Paris. Marlena says they’re planning to, but thanks him for coming to them. Eric says he couldn’t stay in France with his brother in trouble.

Eric asks, "So Brady’s been drinking for a while?" Marlena explains that it started after Theresa got married. Brady had hoped they’d get back together, and those hopes were dashed. It’s sad, especially since Brady had been sober for so long. To drive drunk, hit somebody, and leave the scene—she can’t imagine how reckless and cruel he could be. "He didn’t even call anyone to let them know Sarah was lying on the side of the road." Eric says he can’t judge after what he did to Holly’s father.

Marlena tells Eric she knows he lives with the pain of what happened to Daniel. Eric says he thinks of Daniel every day and feels sadness and remorse. He reveals that back when he and Nicole were married, they decided Holly was too young to know the details of the accident, but someday, she should know. They haven’t told her yet, but Nicole threatened to. Marlena doubts EJ would have followed through. Eric says he and Nicole have decided that since he’s back, he should tell Holly before she finds out from someone else.

Eric knows how to smile! He looks great when he smiles. I think I could handle Eric in small doses like this.

I agree. Small doses of Eric are good. Alas he will be back to moping tomorrow methinks

I always find it interesting that Marlena is so judgmental of Brady doing exactly what Eric did (except Eric killed Daniel). She was a lot more forgiving of his accident. Wonder if this will cause a bit of a rift between John and Marlena. I hope Days explores this (but doubt they will). I've always hoped that John would call Doc out on her bias.
