Kristen hangs up after talking to someone and she tells her father’s portrait that Brady’s car is now flat as a pancake and probably stacked like one as well. She did what she had to do to protect her family, just like he would have. EJ comes in and wonders what she did. Kristen tells him that she had to fire Ava because Gabi threatened to pull Gabi Chic out of DiMera after finding out that Stefan slept with Ava while she was in prison. EJ doesn’t believe her and warns her that she shouldn’t be sharing her secrets out loud with their father’s portrait.
EJ guesses that whatever Kristen did has to do with Brady. Jada comes in and tells EJ she needs to speak with him about Sarah’s case. Kristen walks out but eavesdrops by the door. Jada tells him about the car that is connected to the hit and run, but the owner claims it was stolen, but didn’t file a police report. Without the car, she is afraid they won’t be able to get a conviction. He wants to know who the suspect is and she wants to know if it matters. He admits it does so she tells him it is Brady Black. EJ says go ahead & arrest him. EJ tells Jada that this is not based on the family feud between his family & Brady’s family. There is potentially enough evidence to win a conviction so she should get ready to read him his Miranda Rights.
Jada is walking toward the front door when Kristen asks her if she has any leads. Jada knows that Kristen was listening, so she knows that Brady is the suspect. Jada wants to know if Kristen knows anything. Kristen says she doesn’t and walks away.
Kristen returns to the living room and he gleefully says the suspect in Sarah’s hit and run is her baby daddy but he has a feeling she already knew.

The unmistakable glee on EJ's face when "cart before the horse" Jada blabbed out Brady's name. He hates Brady and will surely go for the jugular.
I guess we might get a lesson in how the criminal system can be not only flawed but manipulated as well.
But nice novelistic approach as Kristen witnessed the whole thing and the fact that she is widely mistaken adds a nice novelistic touch.

EJ figuring out Kristen's entire scheme to protect Brady in ten seconds was fabulous. I have missed him so.

EJ is like a bloodsucking vampire bat, salivating over things he thinks he can use for his own benefit. @carlineleg, I'm happy he's back too. Adds a lot of life to the show.
