Thinking about sisters and brothers and cousins dating and such, what level of relativity do you think it’s okay for a couple to have a relationship? What triggers the ick factor?
First cousins? Second cousins? Third cousins? Cousins in name only (like Alex and Stephanie)? No blood relationship whatsoever?
Posting a poll for you to vote in, but please comment as well.

I think as long as they’re not direct cousins, it’s okay. So, like, second cousins and on.
The one exception is Chelsea and Max. Yes, technically they’re uncle and niece, but neither is actually biologically related to the other, since Max was adopted, and Bo is Victor’s son.

I agree with you André DiMera. 2nd cousin is acceptable to me. I believe my grandparents were 2nd cousins. They didn't know each other growing up. They grew up in different countries.

I think a lot of it is context-dependent. Alex and Stephanie aren't blood-related, but they've known each other as cousins. They've played fast and loose with the history, but it was established onscreen that Adrienne raised Alex as her own, and Stephanie even went to stay with them at one point. So... they're cousins.
Max/Chelsea was weird, but because Max wasn't a biological Brady AND Chelsea didn't know she was a Brady until she was an adult, I guess it gets a pass. It's odd, but not sickening.

I’m a bit prudish and voted not related at all Me too. Steph and Alex may not be related but they both talked about sharing the same "Grandma Jo" and knew her growing up. That means they relate to each other as cousins.

The real ICK Factor happened in real life! When I was an adult, I found out my "God Parents" are first cousins!!!! Maybe back then Mexico either didn't have laws against it or they lied? I don't know the whole story. Wouldn't have been as shocking on my Mom side since some are from Kentucky. Just Kidding! Guess my mom's loving endearment, Mexican Hillbillies to us kids, was fitting after all. LOL
Now, Thanks to me on social media I have just shared an embarrassing family secret. LOL

I voted not related at all. If the relation is by marriage only, then maybe 2nd cousins. But it would really depend on the circumstances. My mom & bonus dad are cousins (2nd or 3rd, I can't remember) through a marriage down the line but never knew each other growing up and our family (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) didn't even know them. While we still give them a hard time about it, we don't really even think anything about it.
Now if they were referring to the same relative as being something closer like a grandparent or direct uncle, that would be a totally different story.
