I've mentioned before that I write chapters out of order to keep me from getting the dreaded writers block. I write whatever inspires me. So I was reviewing the chapters that are coming up in The Rest of Our Lives next week and it felt like something was missing. There was a scene I knew I wrote but it wasn't in my primary document. So I scoured my other files and whew I found it.
Readers would have felt like they were missing something if it was omitted. The missing scenes were really needed for character motivation and what happens next. I feel like I caught a break. And so did my readers!
Authors: Have you ever forgotten or almost forgotten to post a scene or chapter that you had written or planned to write?

I write poems and am having terrible writer's block right now. I also write super short non/fiction or fiction stories. When I write I usually don't forget to include anything in my stories or poems but I tend to to do a lot of editing on some of them. Sometimes it can turn into something completely different than what I originally intended.

That's happened to me with my fanfiction before. A couple times I had to edit to add a scene that I knew I wrote but had not made it to the post.
